First off, it has to be said both teams defences were fantastic.

I think we were the better side and deserved to win the game. In the first half, helped by some poor Batley kicking we controlled field position really well whilst battling up the legendary Mount Pleasent slope. We crossed their line 5 times, 2 were held up, 2 were chalked off for infringements and Jy-mel crossed for a good try in the corner and Danny Jones superbly converted.

In the second half Batley improved and it became a titanic arm wrestle between both packs with some big hits going in. We did just enough to win the game with James H going over for the winning try with about 10 minutes or so left.

Even with so few points scored it would have been a great game for the neutral to watch.

There were a lot of good perfomances but Craig Moss, Jode Sheriffe and Sam Obst stood out for me.

Couldn't get to the game today and we win.

Congrats to JD and the lads, I listened to the radio and it sounds like we could have scored more. March & JD had tries dis-allowed and we got over twice but could not ground the ball.

My mate texted me with 10 mins to go and said that the phone masts must be very busy cos John Kear had a purple face and smoke coming out of his ears.

At full time he was just sat in his chair rocking back and forth muttering "Manchester City, Manchester City" under his breath.
