I am only going of what i have read on internet sites.
This is a statement from York City Knights.
From the club:
The club can confirm that Jason Demetriou has accepted an offer to become
the new Head Coach at the Keighley Cougars following Barry Eaton's move to
the Crusaders. Jason informed the club of his decision on Tuesday afternoon
and we are now waiting to hear from Keighley regarding a compensation deal,
which we expect will be a five figure sum. Although we are disappointed to
loose Jason we wish him all the best for the future.'"
I am absolutely sure, i am his father and we have been talking about these negotiations as they progessed. York have been fantastic about it and JD mentioned that the CEO and Chairman were 2 of the nicest and fairest people he has ever come across. Back to the original issue there has and never will be any transfer fee for Jason.

Yeah, the new bosses at Keighley arnt daft, if there was a be a big fee involved, they simply would have just given the job to someone else that wasnt costing an arm and a leg, they just dont have the money for transfer fees

Thats ok Goosey. I was in England during May and June so i cant see myself getting there until 2012 if i can manage it.

Great news!
As our new 'player-coach', I'd like to see him in the thick of it. Leading, organising, prompting and coaching his young players - similar to Alan Kellett who did a great job at loose-forward after he became too slow at stand-off.
Rapid distribution of the ball to our three-quarters would be great (instead of keeping the ball in the forwards) - you cannot beat pace.
Only time will tell but his committment over the years cannot be faulted and for someone with an approach to the game like that it cannot.
Let's hope that his appointment will increase our gates (once we start winning again).

Great for you guys, absolute top bloke is JD. In terms of value for money, probably the best overseas player we've had at Wakey. He has seen some real adversity at Wakey which I'm sure will make him a better leader. I'll be keeping a special look out for your results. Good Luck JD.

jd signed a get out clause to become a coach, but not as a player/coach, theres the differance, so as long as he dosnt play for you then you owe us nowt.
