What happened with Strurridge? I know he ended up at Chelsea but read a report saying he is on less than what city were offering? Thought city let him go because of his wage demands?

| rlSky Sports Newsrl sources also understand that Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg have agreed a €10.5million (£9m) fee with Newcastle for Obafemi Martins.
I don't blame him i wouldn't want to hang around there either...

Gone to Parma on a year's loan. Hopefully will prove his fitness as he has the talent.

Don't think that team he mentioned is unbalanced tbh, it's weak tho you have a good point. It defo needs a bit more strength in midfield but plenty of time yet.

| Quote: D.D. "Delighted with both.
I always thought that Toure was a fantastic player until he sort of disappeared off the radar. Hopefully a change of club will get him back to the level he was at.
I was a little worried that Onuoha would have been used as bait in a Lescott deal because I just happen to think that Onuoha is going to be an England regular in the not too distant future. It would have been a shocking bit of business.
Thankfully, Hughes seems to have his head screwed on a little bit more than he has been given credit for. I'm beginning to believe that the Chairman's faith in him will end up being vindicated. In the transfer ins and outs, I think he is calling everything spot on.
Whilst some still lick the ass of Sven, he went out and signed eleven players, the vast majority of which had never played in England and were wholly unsuitable for the Premier League.
Almost without exception, Hughes has brought in players who are in tune with what is required, have Premier League experience and won't be fazed by the frenetic nature of the game.
Hughes is at a club aspiring to be in the top four. Sven is at Notts County. Sums it up for me.'"
Do I detect an element of positivity?

I thought that - after you've tried to make him see the positive side for the last 2 years (and you have, to be fair) he's finally turned.
And all it took was a gazillionaire spunking 200 million on players!

| Elano has gone to Galatasary.
After his last performance, against Spurs at White Hart Lane, I have to say that I am happy about that.
An extremely talented footballer, one of the most talented to play at City, but very inconsistent, lazy and he has a questionable attitude. Saying that I am sure he will have a great World Cup in 2010.
Question is, does Hughes replace him? We have Ireland, Tevez and SWP who can play in Elano's position (i.e. behind the striker).

Long gone are the days of fans nominating him for player of the season.

The squad's starting to look like: Given, Taylor, Zabaleta, Richards, Kompany, Toure, Lescott/Dunne/A N Other, Onouha, Bridge, Garrido, De Jong, Ireland, Barry, SWP, Johnson, Petrov, Tevez, Adebayor, Robinho, Santa Cruz, Bellamy.
I think Dunne, will leave and that Hughes will look to replace Garrido & Petrov at some time, but may wait until January. I'd say we could still do with another creative cental midfielder, certainly not another "hole" players.
I dont think Hughes will rush to replace Elano but it wouldnt suprise me if we were to make a very big signing in the last week in August when the market goes a bit mad.
