Yep - the Americans seem to laying into Cleverly also for picking an unknown opponent. I've seen him once or twice and he is a good fighter with a story that Rocky Balboa would be proud of. Should be a very comfortable win for Cleverly, but whether it is enough to entice Dawson or Hopkins I doubt.
Gavin on the undercard, as is Enzo Maccarinelli.

The moment David Haye landed that big right hand was the point when Maccrinelli was exposed for what he is....An average fighter, with a very suspect chin....He was a classic Frank Warren managed boxer - Carefully matched, once exposed to good standard fighters, shown up as pretty hopeless.
After some of the hidings he has took, he should be sat in front of his telly with his pipe and slippers watching the boxing, not taking part.
Can only think he is short of money to be carrying on. It shows up Frank Warren for the sleazeball he truly is, that he lets Macrinellli carry on.

I think his career just seemed to stall and fall away without that Johnny Nelson fight in 2006. Since then it's just been generally bad news for Enzo with the Haye, Afolabi and Lebedev fights. Like any fighter who wants a decent payday he is touting for a fight with Cleverly, but I don't see what Cleverly would gain from it.
Good career anyway with a top class knockout percentage, but when it's been bad it's been awful.

| Pretty good fight - didn't expect that much punching power from Karpency but he was very handy and shook Cleverly early on. Comfortable points win though, but I'm guessing he will have wanted more in front of his own fans. But they sounded happy enough anyway. (Bloody Rugby Union :/)

| Alexander gives Maidana a boxing lesson.....On that performance, I'd say Khan wants to stay away from Alexander as he'd get his head boxed off.

| I worry about Clev's lack of power. I also worry that he's not ready for world level. He seems far too eager to brawl at certein points instead of using his boxing ability and speed. I think he needs to a step up in class before taking on the elites in the division like Hopkins, and Dawson. A fight with Diaconu or Shumenov would be good for him at this stage.
As for Gavin he looks tecnically as good as any fighter we have and should be a world champion at some point as long as he stays focused on boxing. I do think however he looks a bit small and could do with adding some bulk.

The same Alexander who got a gift against Kotelnik and Matthysse, and looked totally 5hit against Bradley? I doubt Khan gets his head boxed off. Alexander seems pretty slick, but lets not get excited because he out boxed Marcos Maidana. Maidana is a game fighter and is one of the biggest punchers in the sport but a slick technitian he isn't. Khan has seemed to do well when coming up against decent boxers (Mallinaggi, Kotelnik, Judah) he seems to struggle with pressure fighters but to be fair he gave Maidana a beating until the 10th round when he got caught, and he was easily outboxing Peterson until Peterson became more of a pressure fighter.
If the 2 ever fought my money would be on Khan to stop Alexander late after taggin him straight punches for 9 rounds.
