| Some good racing on the International front tomorrow and good to see that the compilers are out again pretty early on the two Guineas at Longchamp.
13
Joanna - There'll be plenty of people on here who know just how big a fan I am of this horse. She ran an extraordinary time at Deauville last August when trained in Italy and ridden by Dario Vargiu over 7f. She ran just once more after that group race when a fast finishing third to todays rival Rosanara in the 1m Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day. Her return saw her start as second favourite to Criquette Head-Maarek's odds-on Special Duty (re-opposes today) and she saw her off and the subsequent Italian 1000 Guineas winner Evening Tempete in relatively easy style over 7f in a recognised trial for this race. Christophe Soumillon again takes the mount and I think the price on offer about her represents some value
Advice
The colts classic is up next and it again provides some big prices about the home runners.

Royal Bench - A very interesting Rodolphe Collet trained colt who made his debut last September over todays course and distance when a running on third. He followed up in a relatively weak maiden at the same track a month later before disappointing upped to Gropu 1 company behind Aidan O'Brien's Jan Vermeer, he didn't appear to handle the very soft ground at Saint-Cloud. He appeared to have strengthened up over the winter judged on his 8 length romp on sticky ground back at Longchamp in May last time out - that was only a conditions race and he's up in class today but the interesting observation about the race is that it was run in just under 2 seconds faster than the fillies division of the race (won by Green Ridge carrying 1.5KG's less, Anna Salai was runner-up and has since won a recognised Guineas trial for fillies) and as such he should be expected to prove up to at least placing in Group 1 company.
Advice
Good Luck all
Martin

| I wouldn't rule out either of them - Siyouni is a top clas colt but he's not for me at the price and Rosanar holds Joanna on the Marcel Boussac form if you think that Joanna hasn't improved past her, won a trial last time out and is very highly regarded at home.

Royal Bench NR mate.
Done two more over in France.
Longchamp 13:05 Sorciere 9/1 E/W
Beat none other then Special Duty first time out last year over this trip, then beaten by Zanzibari who ran a good race in Group 1 behind Arcano, Special Duty, Canford Cliffs and Dolled Up the latter was then beaten by Sorciere over 6f, hopefully its ready to go.
Longchamp 15:25 Makani 11/2
My third Lemaire ride of the day, its going for a longer trip today after being caught out over a mile.

Good stuff - like the look of Sorciere she's very nippy filly who beat Special Duty on her debut last year - also ran Zanzibari close. Only concern is that this is first time out but it's good to see that they aren't trying to turn her into a miler.
Lion Mountain was impressive at Pontefract and being by Tiger Hill he'll appreciate the slightly softer ground in the Hocquart. In the Guineas with Royal Bench a non-runner I like the look of Meezaan on the PMU who's currently around the 50/1 mark (not sure what he'll end up mind) as the Gosden horses are improving for the run and Rodrigo De Torres is no slouch (beat Meezaan at Doncaster).

Ladbrokes should take them over the phone - alternatively go to www.tote.ie and set up an account with the Irish Tote and do it that way, the account will be in Euro's but will be bet straight into the pools.
In fact most firms will lay a bet up to a decent amount (£250 or so) at PMU.

| Flo Jo was fourth in the end I think - not beaten far but beaten by fillies down the outside of her in Liliside and Special Duty.

| Unexpected win on Salford yesterday, used the proceeds as liabilty to lay Barcelona at 1.06 on Betfair to win La Liga.
It looks like and may well end up being money thrown away, but with Clemente's Valladolid needing a point to avoid the drop, a Barca side missing Xavi and Iniesta may not have it all their own way. Although Real Madrid face a similar test at Malaga, I can see them getting the three points more easily.

You realise that Malaga need to win to stay up too?

Yes, and on paper Real's looks the harder assignment but I still expect them to win.
Obviously Barca are clear favourites for the title, but Valladolid have been hard to beat since Clemente took over and there's always the chance they could nick a point.
Whichever way it goes I reckon 1.06 isn't bad odds to lay anyway.
