Referee Lee Mason tries to have a word with his fourth official, all the while Rafa Benitez trying to have a word in his ear. It makes no difference - when Mascherano gets up, he is shown the red card. Personally, I don't think he can complain - it's a shocking challenge.

1329: Javier Mascherano could be in trouble in two ways here - he's lunges in on Tal Ben Haim, but the Argentine goes down straight after too. He needs treatment, but he should be getting a card too.

Thought the sending off was harsh, I've not been able to look at it from every angle but the contact looked pretty minimal and I don't think his stoods were up. When Brown's been running around fouling galore, put in that context, it wasn't even a card.

I cant comment on the challenge as havent seen it, but amusing how every Liverpool fan think's it wasnt a red and the rest of the footballing world seems to think it was.

I've put a lot of faith in the man over the past 5 years, but honestly, I feel he should do the honourable thing and resign. We are so poor, every single aspect of our game is poor, I'm ashamed that they're representing our club, honestly, it's so depressing.
