| I think the Hawks have been on NASN more times so far this season than the last 3 years put together and it's good to watch a home game with the Hawks announcers doing the game.

Devils cant afford his salary. We are struggling at the moment as martin Rolston and Holik are also out. Worst injury list i have ever seen the Devs have. By the time Marty coems back we could have no chance of the playoffs but at least its a deep draft.

| I've been disappointed with the lack of HNIC on NASN. Especially after missing the Leafs 6-3 win on Saturday

Depends on if they are prepared to trade a high earner like Elias, Gontia or White to the Hawks for Khabibulin. Guess it depends how serious not having Brodeur will be to their chances this season and how much this will cost them. Think the Hawks would be intersted if the deal was right and would see Crawford come up from the minors as he is seems highly rated by them.

No way Elias goes, hes got a no trade clause anyway and isnt producing like he once did, hes good mates with Havlat though. Gionta hasnt been producing since Gomez left and isnt worth the money. Trading him or White wouldnt free up enough cap space. White isnt what he was, he only has one eye now and a no trade as well. If the Devs had a full line up of skaters they would be winning enough games with Weekes to stay in the hunt, its the sum of all the injuries that are the problem.

Think Elias would possibly consider a trade to the Hawks due to the Havlat factor. Gontia isn't doing too bad for you so far this season but reason I mention Gontia is I think the way the Hawks play he would be a pretty good fit.
White I admit isn't the player he was but he still can do a job.
TBF I think Holik being out the Devils line up is a big miss for them, okay he is getting to the end of his career but he is a guy who will go through walls for the team and bust his butt which makes things happen.
Think the problem with Weekes is that if he hasn't got a strong D in front of him he can struggle but he aint too bad a goalie but he never gets a run in goal due to Brodeurs game winning talent which doesn't help him. Don't think he has played back to back games for well over a year has he? Think thats been his problem in his NHL career though not getting regular game time which for me is because he is an okay goalie not a real stand out, he can have absolute blinders but he can also have stinkers.
Still think the management will look at all angles of possibly trading for a replacement for Marty, not that you will ever get a suitable replacement for a guy of his quality. Think now he is out the line it will show how much they rely on his ability between the pipes.

Martin is a top pairing d man now, not a true #1 but hes a good player. When fully fit the Devils D isnt too bad. The danger with trading Elias is that he is the most naturally talented player, even though he cant seem to get it going no matter who he plays with.. Gionta is out of favour with the fans and is making 4mill per. Hes UFA at the end of the season too. He gets all his goals as a garbage man and that isnt how he is being used.
Holik is the best face off man and plays first unit on the PP. If the devs are out of it at the deadline and Marty isnt healthy i can see him, gionta and a couple of others being traded at the deadline. The rumors are that Edmonton is looking to trade Roloson so maybe hes an option.
I think they will stick with Weekes and Cementglove and hope that they can make the 8 when everyone is fit. I wouldnt mind seeing Gionta gone but Sutter seems deead set against putting any of the prospects/rookies in on one of the top lines.

| Blueshirts bring their hot streak back to the Garden tonight against the Bruins after a superb performance against the Devils in Jersey. Some absolutely fantastic blue line finishes.
Also, Henrik Lundqvist, Wade Redden, Chris Drury, Scott Gomez and Markus Naslund are in the ballot for the All Star Game.

That was a disaster waiting to happen right from the start. After just 2 games Melrose was calling out his players and that's not the way to get them to play hard for you,it wasn't the only time in the couple of months in charge that he had a go at the players and I bet they're glad to get rid of him.Look for the Lightning to start making a move up the standings.

| Rangers beat the Bruins in the shootout after coming back from 2-0 down. 26 saves by Lundqvist and a shut out in the shootout.
Just watching the highlights now, and so far I've seen one of the linesman slip over and injure his nose, and Michael Rozsival smack his face into the goal frame! Bizarre scenes!
