There was just over 5000 people at the fight on Saturday, thats just over half of the Boardwalk Hall's capacity. Ward has struggled to sell tickets even in Oakland. Ward will be a star in boxing but I doubt that'll cross over into mainstream recognition. He is an elite fighter but he can be boring, his hit and hold mauling style can be boring, and he's never going to be a KO artist. However, the most boring thing about him (and there's nothing wrong with this at all) is that he's so much better than everyone else he faces, Same with the K bros, Mayweather etc.

Ward wants no part of Bute at this stage and would like a rematch with Kessler "to settle the score" apprently, although I'm not quite sure what that score is. I'd like to see Ward fight Dirrell as he hasn't faced anyone faster or as slick as himself as yet, although I'd imagine he'd just bully him on the inside and smother his work. The real test for Ward will be when he moves up in weight and faces people who are as strong as he is, his toughest fight so far has been against Bika who was able to match him at times on the inside.

Can't disagree with much of that, purely in a boxing sense I still maintain that Mayweather is just as boring to watch, by virtue of, as CS says, being better than anyone else. Mayweather and Ward both have superb defensive skills, accurate hands withdecent power but not that will knock you for six. My personal taste would rather watch Froch or Hatton any day, despit Ward and Mayweather being the superior boxers.

I think he is a very lucky man a good plea bargain from his defence team. The sport could have done without it.

Brook vs Hatton confirmed for March 17th at Sheff Arena. If is a decent under card I may consider going.

Also Froch-Bute lined up for April 14th in Montreal.

Still could be a stumbling block of the date/ venue as Pacquiao wants the end of May in the new 25,000 seater stadium in Vegas while Mayweather has already booked MGM Grand for May 5. Wonder if it will go ahead after all or we'll see another demand mongering stance.

Watching David Price last night, I must say that I'm very impressed by the guy and will be interested to see just how far he can go.

He obviously has a very good amateur pedigree (Olympic bronze) and coupled with some very good attributes - tall, strong and agile being some, he appears to have the tools to go a long way.

He is set to meet Tyson Fury before summer, which should be a decent fight, and one which I would expect Price to win, and considering the punchbags being put up in front of the Klitchsko's at present, it is highly probable that Price could find himself on a World stage pretty soon.

Just interested what others think.....I certainly believe he can be a credible challenger to the Ukranian champs and, after their retirements, possibly a World champion in his own right.

Price looks to have all the tools but ive not seen much of him to say much more.... beating mcdermott isnt much to get excited about

He'll get rid of fury inside the distance IMO. Anyone above that level remains to be seen.

The European champion is a dud, Price would KO him.....The US has very little to offer.

The main problem for Price is that he could get to the Klitschko's too soon.....In a sensible world, he needs about 10 more fights, but where do you find that many opponents who would actually be worthwhile for him to meet?

David Haye suffered from the same problem....Got to a World Title far too soon, exposed once meeting a genuine class heavyweight.....If he had took a longer, more patient route, the sort that fighters took in the old days, then Haye could have been ready to take the Klitchsko's on, instead of looking massively out of his depth....I still maintain that a David Haye, properly schooled in the heavyweight world, had/has all the attributes to dominate that weight division.
