Quote: Nemanja "Very impressed with the way we came out and changed the game in the second half. Ferdinand had a shocker in the first half and our inability to deal with crosses was scary. Luckily, we managed to prevent them doing anything in the second half.

In the first half Gomes looked as though he was having one of those "$hit keeper's best game of the season" before the ultimate crumble. Very pleased with the result, nice to see Ronaldo stick a finger up at the media who criticise his "doesn't look interested celebrations" after his second goal.

Let's hope the form and momentum from the second half can be continued into Wednesday night and beyond.'"

Did not look completely fit to me Rio, maybe the back was still an issue?

Very dodgy penalty but after that we totally destroyed them and Rooney was magnificent. Loved the Ronaldo celebration icon_biggrin.gif

Quote: Ian [77] ""He's actually started 24 games this season and featured in 40 so that's a bit unfair.

It's a PFA award so we have to think that professional footballers know more than you (shudder) and me (double shudder). I accept that sentimentality may have assisted a bit but it's not as if they started a Facebook group to make sure all the votes went to Giggs.

The only problem I have with this award is that they vote for it far too early. They should be voting for it now.'"

The award is for a calendar year, so Giggs from at the back end of last year will also have helped toward him getting this award.

I couldn't care less who won the awards. All I know care about is that Ireland plays for City and that he is a far better player than Young. Ireland outperformed Young in terms of goals, assists and all of the defensive stats. The fact that Young played for a team that was the darling of the media at the time of voting, helped his cause enormously. However, he has been terrible since the turn of the year, as has Agbonlohor. I guess the opposition have simply worked out Young's and Agbonlohor's limited abilities.

Quote: Robbie Rotten "Half of the games he's played in the league have been as a sub, he has started 12 games out of 33 and that's the best player in the league this year? My loving ar'se.

I admire Giggs, he should have won the awards years back, but he's not even been United's best player, let alone the league's.

Gerrard, Vidic and Lampard have all been better.'"

Giggs is one of only two man u players I have ever had respect for but hes no way been near been the best player this season in the league, should of got some kind of life time award but the players clearly have alot respect for him and voted for him.

Giggs didn't deserve the award based on his performances from the fans point of view but he was voted by players. Hence why he got players player of the year. So nobody can really argue with that. The media are more likely to get it wrong than players.

You do all know that the PFA award is voted for in January, don't you? And that it's for the calendar year, not the season? This is something that you're all aware of, isn't it?

You have only ever had respect for 2 United players? Presume the other one is Scholes? So you don't have any respect for Edwin Van Der Sar - 100 odd caps for Holland (probably) 2 time European Champion, countless league titles? What about Bobby Charlton?

There's nothing wrong with giving your rivals credit, even if you 'hate' the club.

Difficult not to respect many Utd players when they have such immense talent.

They still robbed Spurs the other day though icon_wink.gif
