| So who are the beneficaries from the £46m City paid for Tevez then? That bit from the Times article interested me.

2nd offence wasn't exactly a clear cut yellow though was it?

Last time he got sent off was March 2009. Before that, it was August 2008. Before that, it was April 2007. 4 in 29 months.
Typical blinkered response.

| Mark Hughes is showing that he can handle it at the top at the moment great team selection yesterday, they still seem a bit vulnerable at the back though and that Upson would have been a better signing than Lescott.

| Quote: Lord God Jose Mourinho "There's not enough in the RVP-Adebayor incident to say he stamped on him on purpose. One of the angles suggested he could have done it on purpose, but it's nowhere near enough to charge him over it. RVP's challenge was a cheap one anyway.
Running the full length of the field to celebrate in front of the Arsenal fans. Stupid, ridiculous, but the Arsenal fans deserve it. Yellow card deserved, but again no further action.
Great win for citeh.'"

| The contact with the head was clearly accidental. Less clear whether Adebayor tried to stamp on his fingers. To say that he was over-hyped from start to finish would be an understatement. It was quite surreal when he lined up about 10m in the Arsenal half just before kick off. It would be a shame if he's suspended, apart from anything he's been our best defender at opponents set pieces. Is he supposed to be lazy?
If he does pick up a ban it will mean we'll be without him, Tevez, Robinho, Santa Cruz and Kompany against Utd. Should take the pressure off.
It was something of a first for Mark Hughes yesterday when he made a substitution that actually changed the game in our favour. Until then that was the one remaining valid criticism that could have been made about him.
We're still a long way from the finished article. To have max points at this stage is a hell of a bonus (and admittedly a touch fortunate) given the changes that have been made.

But that's conveniently missing out the bit where van "no means no" Persie slides straight through the back of him and he has to ride the challenge.
Acting as Adebayor's legal defence, I'd maintain that Adebayor was simply finding his balance after being the victim of an ugly and reckless challenge from RVP. Yes, I'd say there was a slight movement from Ade' to suggest a possible reaction from him, but that movement was so small that it's impossible to prove that he was deliberately trying to kick van Persie in the face.
What Adebayor did was little different to what Rooney does every time an opposition player looks like they'll be in kicking distance.
A totally clean, honest player would deserve protection if a player stamped on their face. But Arsenal are full of snide little kunts who are totally willing to dish things out, unseen by Wenger, but when they get some back they cry like babies. Typical Arsenal, **** them.

On one of the angles he looks like he means it. Especially when it's edited so RVPs contribution is ignored.
But on the other angles, there looks nothing in the incident.

Im not stick up for RVP but "ade" goes for the head imo studs lifted up to the face and leans forward.
