He's actually started 24 games this season and featured in 40 so that's a bit unfair.
It's a PFA award so we have to think that professional footballers know more than you (shudder) and me (double shudder). I accept that sentimentality may have assisted a bit but it's not as if they started a Facebook group to make sure all the votes went to Giggs.
The only problem I have with this award is that they vote for it far too early. They should be voting for it now. |

The award is for a calendar year, so Giggs from at the back end of last year will also have helped toward him getting this award. |

I couldn't care less who won the awards. All I know care about is that Ireland plays for City and that he is a far better player than Young. Ireland outperformed Young in terms of goals, assists and all of the defensive stats. The fact that Young played for a team that was the darling of the media at the time of voting, helped his cause enormously. However, he has been terrible since the turn of the year, as has Agbonlohor. I guess the opposition have simply worked out Young's and Agbonlohor's limited abilities.
