At the bottom Numancia and Recreativo are relegated, with one of Valladolid, Getafe, Betis, Sporting or Osasuna to follow....
14 Valladolid 42
15 Getafe 41
16 Betis 41
17 Sporting 40
------------------
18 Osasuna 40
'"
So Barcelona - Osasuna was in fact a Man Utd - Hull type scenario. Barca leave out 9 regulars and Osasuna win 1 - 0. Sanctions?

| Real Madrid lost again yesterday - that's 4 defeats on the trot.

| Lets see if Survival Sunday, or maybe something like 'El Domingo de descenso' in Spain is more exciting.
Interestingly, if Real Betis lose 1-0 against Valladolid, Getafe lose 3-1 at Racing and Sporting and Osasuna both win, Betis and Getafe will have exactly the same record. Having drawn against each other twice in the league, in this scenario a playoff at a neutral venue would decide who was relegated.
Not a massive chance of it happening, but the possibility is there all the same.

| Some sensational goals at the weekend. Diego Camacho, Cleber Santana, Diego Forlan and Joseba Llorente all scored pearlers.

| So the treble, with a double over Real Madrid thrown in for good measure, in Guardiola's first season - the only way is down for him from here so he might be better off resigning!

I wouldn't back against it, I'd be amazed if anyone caught them up domestically.

perez is determined to splash the cash if(when) he gets in.
you've got a point though. the gap between 1st and 3rd this year was embarrassing.

If he's learnt from last time I think they might go some way to catch up, but he'll probably sign 25 strikers and go through a few managers and they'll end up going nowhere.
Barca are in a great position where they can make a tweak or two and push on, Madrid are going to have the big overhaul before they even try and bridge the gap.
As for the rest, I can't see much changing without major investment, and I'm not sure any of them have the funds to do it.
