| Masch will stay with us. Rafa's spent so long building our side, signing and selling players in positions, always upgrading, now we have Masch we have arguably the best in his position in the world, as tempting as the money being spoken about is, I'm sure Rafa won't sell, and if Masch wants to leave, I'm sure Rafa could turn his head, just like he did when he nearly went Juve.

I think they've done this for a long time though, haven't they? It's just that when it was just the newspapers who were paying these fees no one else knew about it or cared. Now that the internet has expanded so massively they've extended it to that. IMO their main reason for doing it will just be to protect their newspaper income and the major websites. If the FA didn't stop tiny websites from putting the fixtures out then the major websites would expect the fixtures for free as well.
I'd hope that the ridiculous money in football does eventually cause a backlash, but I don't think this issue is it.

I agree with that.
The biggest issue is, should they be charging for fixture lists at all?
Absolutely not. It's like a company charging for access to their advertisments. Pure greed. It makes absolute sense for them to pimp this information everywhere, so fans know exactly whom is playing whom and when so they know in advance whether they can attend.

I await a Glazer refererence rather than a constructive reply.

I thought that. I know United's debt is huge. However, though it is worrying, it isn't in immediate need of restructuring like Liverpool's is.

I don't have a clue. I thought that they wouldn't be able to refinance the loans, which means they would have to sell, but it seems they have so they'll probably wait another year to see if they can get a better offer, and wait for the global market to improve. I think most of our potential buyers were waiting right until the end of the deadline for the refinancing, so they could force the owners to sell on the cheap, but it seems that hasn't worked.
I read somewhere Gillett could be selling the Montreal Canadiens, or that he's sold them, which would put him in a better position to run us, but I remember about 6 months ago that Gillett definitely wanted out of us, so I'm not really sure what's going on.
I hope they leave soon, there has been zero progress made with the new stadium, despite them being here for two and a half years.

| Villa has said he woul only consider joining Madrid, whihc would leave the door open for Utd to sign Benzema although he could be staying put for another year.

I read the interview with Villa after yesterday's game, and he said I know where I want to play, and I've told my agent to make it happen. Or something like that, there was no club mentioned, but I turned on SSN this morning and Marca were saying he said he wants to join Madrid. Wouldn't surprise me if he does want to go there, but we all know what the press are like for jumping to conclusions.

| Quote: MSH "Well, most stadiums get used for things other than football, especially the newer ones (such as concerts, events and the like). Sure it's a case of the clubs saying when their ground is free and the fixture monkeys go with that.
I know Goodison isn't one for them, but Eastlands is, probably why we're there when we are
Irrespective of how a stadium is used in the off season doesnt it have to be available once the season starts?
