Indeed, doing what Stevie G did with Chelsea themselves, red or Blue "through and through" - as long as they come up with something like what the richest club is offering them.

the posturing could well be JT & Chelsea both thinking what's on offer is too good to turn down (the money, not joining city i hasten to add) but no one wants to be seen to be up for the move - chelsea would not want to be seen to be wanting to flog 'Mr Chelsea / EBJT' & 'Mr Chelsea / EBJT' would not want to be seen to be handing in a transfer request - some papers have suggested Terry thinks Chelsea should have rushed to him with a counter offer, and their failure to do so, leaving him struggling by on 130+k per week is tantamount to telling him his is unwelcome at the club.

It is similar to when United signed Rio, everyone knew it was happening, but Leeds who liked to see themselves as rivals to United at the time didn't want to be seen to be a selling club and too eager to snap uniteds hand off, ferdinand didn't want to be seen to be handing in a a request to move to Leeds's much loved rivals over the pennines

So the posturing continued for a few weeks

But the fact remains that a move from Leeds United to Manchester United was a massive move up for Ferdinand.

A move from Chelsea to Man City is a massive move down for Terry.

True

Only in terms of current levels of competitiveness and CL qualification. In terms of popularity (i.e. supporters), you are still a fair way behind us even with your recent 'history'.

If I were City I'd have a crack at Alex or Carvalho. Carvalho is awesome but has had a injury-prone season. I think Alex is a quality player.

Fella, you and I tend to share the same opinion on players (I only post when I disagree with you icon_smile.gif ), but I cannot agree re Alex. I just don't regard him as partiocularly good. if he played for us, he would look as bad as Dunne did last season. I'd have Onouha over Alex.

Judged by average attendence over the history of the clubs, Chelsea are the fifth best supported club in England and Citeh are 7th. But don't let facts get in the way of your dreams.

And I'm sure that it'd be really worth it for JT to go to Citeh for the "more popular" Citeh. Well worth giving up competitiveness in the league and CL for the extra support he'll get. Might be a bit puzzling for him why all those Man City fans don't manage to fill the ground for league games though.

I've not seen enough of Onouha recently to say how good he is, but from what I've seen of Alex he's always impressed me. He's quite quick, strong and worked very well with Terry towards the back end of last year. Opinions, don't you love 'em? icon_lol.gif

I think City definitely need a centre half, but surely there are cheaper, more achievable options around than Terry?

According to some list I viewed a few weeks ago, City were fifth. Another list I looked at claimed we were third. I cannot even remember seeing Chelsea on the two lists.

Has there been any occasion in the last 40 years where you have had a higher average attendance than City for two seasons running? I would guess that not to be the case. However, in the reverse, I would say we have surpassed your average attendance many times. As long as I have been watching football, we have been far more popular than Chelsea.

You've stolen my washing From out my back garden You've tarmacked my driveway Even though I said no You've nicked my lead flashing And weighed it in at the scrappy Oh St Helen's tatters Come rob me again:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_25852.jpg

Willy-waving alert!

Perhaps (although i doubt it) you boys might take some time to step back from this, er, argument and realise how pathetic it actually looks.

Then you can play nicely. Plenty of toys for everyone!
