That's it, you sit on the fence.
Seriously though, watching initially I had no problem with the result and haven't seen a reply but the reporting suggests that Jacqueline Quest drifted off a straight line and carried Special Duty with her.

| She drifted massively in fairness - the question is if Special Duty had been allowed to run straight would she have won?
IMO yes - she didn't drift by herself she was carried over by Jacqueline Quest. Gutted for JQ's owner Noel Martin as he really is one of lifes proper good blokes, especially after what he's been through in his life.
Nurture - up there on the far side but results show that you needed to race on the stands side and Jim didn't seem to think that.
Reve De Nuit - no idea why James Doyle was riding him handy but he's normally held up which he should have been today. Wouldn't give up on him at 12f but a drop in grade would help.

| Thought the Guineas was a terrible spectacle and Newmarket racecourse should be held accountable for that. It was clearly evident that after not even half of the race that about 70% of the field didn't have a hope in hell of winning it.
Surely that can't be right for a classic.
The draw also did me on another I strongly fancied...Genki...managed to sneak into 4th for the place money but ran a belter considering the draw and is certainly one to follow this season!

I didn't watch it, what happened? Never had much interest in these "classics", this year was probably the first time since I have been interesting in racing that I haven't even watched either of the Guineas races.

| Stand side a lot quicker than the middle/far side of the track. Honimiere ran a career best to run Strawberrydaquiri close when racing solo in the Dahlia.
Then in the 1000 Guineas seven came stand side and the rest raced up the middle. The first four came down the stand side.

| Curragh 3.15
Famous 9/2 betfair
Carried alot of money last time out @ 2/1 but didn't show up, O'Brien's horses have been hit and miss so far hopefully it needed that run and the right Famous turns up today
5.15.
Gone for a couple in this flat race.
Massyoun 20/1 E/W now into 12/1
Found nothing after coming to the front along side Tetlam over 1m5f last time I think the step up to 2m will suit it, going off a low weight I think it will be in the mix but question will be does it find something this time.
Sheer Genius 10/1 E/W
8th in the Champion Bumper if coming out of that race well should have a good chance here, a couple of horses who finished just infront have come out and won since the race, tricky race though with the likes of Mullins, Weld and Henderson having runners in this.

| Good Luck Wire85 - O'Briens definitely coming on for the run thus far this year.
Keep an eye on the winner of the 2yo Maiden at The Curragh - O'Brien's won it for the past two years (ie/ since it's been run over 6f instead of 7) with Mastercraftsman and Alfred Nobel.

Send For Paddy - Not a strong selection but an interesting horse in the context of this particular race. He's been running mainly in point-to-points throughout his limied career thus far but proved he'll stay further than this at Toomebridge, West Curragh-Naul and Loughanmore early in his career. He's been running over regulation fences since with the best effort being a remote third in a handicap chase last time out. The favourite is a solid horse in the context of this race but with jumping doubts about him and the second favourite it may pay to look for a horse at a bigger price. Send For Paddy has won on a sound surface before and encounters good to firm going for the first time in his career on a conventional racecourse. The trainer doesn't have the greatest record (yet to train a winner under rules) but the first time blinkers may well help Send For Paddy and he's been nibbled at this morning.
