| Another delayed start at OT due to the overnight rain but the umpires are inspecting again at 11 and they should be on by 11:30 if there’s no more rain. I’ve been waiting all week to watch my final bit of county cricket at OT for 19 months so I’ll be driving over there today no matter what to see what nefarious skulduggery Chilly and Read concoct. I don’t expect Notts to win whatever they contrive.
It could be a frustrating day for Somerset at Durham if they can’t take the 8 wickets in good time, especially since they have to bugger off to the airport 45 minutes early to catch their flight to Lord’s for the CB40 final. What a farce that could be if they’re embroiled in a crucial run-chase!
I honestly have no idea what will happen at Headingley. If they play a straight game then you can only see a draw, but if they agree on a total and chase it could be very interesting. With doomed Kent batting last, it could all come down to how much pride they’ve got to go for the win without batting too brashly. Yorkshire’s seam attack and Rashid could see them home though.
It’s a pity that the weather has ruined this last round of games, but at least with one day to go, there’s still some genuine excitement over who wins one of the best county seasons in many a long year.
Anyone but Yorkshire, please.

| Yorkshire making a right balls of it at the moment.
99/5 only a lead of 58.

Might be a good thing, if we get bowled out cheapish maybe leaving them 150 to get then we might be able to skittle them out in the chase? We need min 200 from this second inngs.
Scatch that 123-8 wicket is spinning now. Current lead is 82, need another 50 at least.

Bugger! 150 would have been interesting. Oh well unless rashid produces his best ever spell the title has gone. Been a good year though and Ashraf looks a find.

| Both Yorkshire and Hampshire appear to be doing their best to gift their visitors the win they needed to stay up, not that there's anything suspicious going on there mind...

| Kent win 90-6 but will probably still go down.
Shame Yorks could not have got another 50/60, it might have been close.

| A bloke in my office went up this morning, said we were too impatient in our batting, and though the ball was doing a bit we should have done a bit better.
30-40 more runs could have made all the difference, but it's still been a very positive season.

If there's a couple of batsmen that could pull it off, then it's Trescothick and Kieswetter.

| Notts going for it on the bonus points, they've hit 400 and declared, now have 18 overs to take 3 wickets to do it - as long as Somerset don't knock the runs off, which is looking highly unlikely (42/3 after 10).

| Well, Notts have done it, although reducing this not even d Lancs side to 11-3 is hardly the achievement of the day....
