Don't know about bent but I'm guessing most runners are making their debuts on Sky and will give their owners a chance of a bit of glory at least. The more tracks they get to the better but from a betting point of view it's not as interesting as most live meetings but if Mountjoy Jasper wins the big one I will not care a jot about the rest of the card.

| Quote: "No inspirational bet for the speedway tonight I'm affraid but Ladbrokes giving Sheffield a ten point start looks big as the visitors will have a large away support with the club putting on free coaches and like Coventry last night will be well up for not losing face in a local derby.
Scunthorpe are usually strong at home but got stuffed there by Kings Lynn recently, have lost 3 on the trot and have a few key riders carrying injuries.
The 5/1 for a Sheffield win is tempting but a more cautious approach and doing them +10 is probably the way to go.'"
If you do Sheffield (+10) do it with Bet 365 who have just priced it up at 10/11 Ladbrokes are the tighter 5/6.

Agree that the Sky stuff is straighter than the BAGS - where it doesn't take much to move a price and only three or four bookies are standing. Some rather shady practices.
Same with the open races - a fair few dogs not trapping well which are usually as fast as lightening out of the box's when odds-on etc. Could be bad luck but there's normally one being backed against it
Flapping - I'll be here all day so won't bother

Not quite, bad referee'd decision put Sheffield under all sorts of pressure and Scunny were just that bit too good

Odds on in Open races is always one to be wary of (and as a rule of thumb the shorter the distance the more vunerable they are). Whilst everyones eyes are on the Derby alot of runners will be given their first runs in Opens and as last night showed some will come good at massive odds but thats how Greyhounds develop and unless your trained by Charlie Lister your likely to go off at big odds now and then but that will not stop a decent "unfashionable" dog winning.
What was poor at Peterborough was the amount of railers in Trap 4 (nothing they could have done about the Final but one off opens should have a better balance of runners).

Lister, Draper, Wallace, Savva are the main guys and Carly Philpott was a good young trainer when she trained (think she's with Elaine Parker now or married to someone's son etc.)

| Yeah I am - think she'll run a good race, the front two in the market are worthy favourites though as we know Elusive Wave has trained on and Fantasia was impressive at Newmarket.
Don't go in too big mind on Proportional.

| Think Tiger will win the golf as he will be smarting after last weeks failure.
Not sure I will back him at 4/1 but certainly will not be backing against him and going for anyone else.
The Italian Open is anyones to win and could well turn into a birdie fest and is often won by a first time winner or at least a lower profile name....Simon Khan has a decent record there and has won the Welsh Open which is a similar low scoring shoot out and at 200/1 is worth a go.

No arguments there but people like Allsopp, Cahill and Clemenson know the time of day and the last 2 being Hove trainers I'd say now the Stow is no more that is the best standard graded track in the country (a fair few of dogs that have gone through the grades at Hove are in the 2nd round of the Derby).

| Funny you mention Hove as it's now my local track
Backed a dog from round here in the outrights - Barnfield On Air, not that hopeful as he only just scraped through the first round
