Crap draw and everything needs to go right for him.....it worked out for a few similar railers drawn wide in the greyhound Derby heats at Wimbledon but they were blessed with more early pace than him and it seems certain that there will be trouble in the race so hope he has his best Westmead Hawk instincts going to avoid it all and snatch the prize. Can not dessert him after backing him at 50/1 but would have liked to have seen him in a more balanced contest with him as one of 2 railers (the first 5 traps are all railers, Tr 6 is a wide seed), as then he would have had a great chance to do the business.
Saying that the trainer was pretty bullish in his comments in the Racing Post about tonight and just how good he might turn out to be.
Fingers crossed.

Some would say that...I'd say he's got to use his intelligence to escape any bother then power on to the finish.

| Worst advised tip of the year IMHO is the Sun claiming the Diamond of the Day is Man U to score against Arsenal at 30/100. They may well do but a national newspaper picking that as an advised bet when they can go through without scoring and encouraging people to bet at those sort of odds is a bit off in my book.

| Outrageous betting weekend for me the highlights below.
Lows -
Had Murphy in the snooker at 16/1
Had Woods in the golf at all sorts of prices. Lost, plus the usual tips.
Had Quins -10 against Salford. Lost
Had Rainbow View and Rip Van Winkle in the guineas
Had Hatton outright.
Total Loss - Alot
Highs
Had LIverpool -2 v Newcastle (got to love Lucas)
Had a Spurs/City double
Had Bradford and Hull singles and double off Scratch
Had Hull -4 at 11/8
Had Levet in the golf at evens with 7 holes left
Had a Ryan Moore horse yesterday at 7/4. Desert Creek. Not noteworthy other than the fact I threw everything in my Centrebet account on it.....ยฃ70 at 7/4 ยฃ100 at 15/8. Ludicrous betting but luckily it won
Total Win - A lot more than I lost!! Reckon I'm about ยฃ300 up for the weekend but was literally betting on anything all weekend. I've hardly slept and I think I'll be cooling off for a while.

| I fancy the British Lions to do South Africa, I was confident before but with the following Injury list continuing to mount it's looking increasingly likelyOUT
Butch James (Cruciate Ligament)
Conrad Jantjes (Broken Leg)
INJURED
Andries Bekker (Rib)
Schalk Burger (Calf)
Jean de Villiers (Groin)
Fourie du Preez (Calf)
Adrian Jacobs (Shoulder)
Francois Steyn (Knee)'"
A few Bets i fancy but i won't be going big, Tommy Bowe is the one that stands out most to me...
British & Irish Lions [iOutright[/i (5/2) (PaddyPower)
British & Irish Lions [i3-0[/i (22/1) (PaddyPower)
Tommy Bowe [iTop Lions Tryscorer[/i (9/1) (Coral)

| No inspirational bet for the speedway tonight I'm affraid but Ladbrokes giving Sheffield a ten point start looks big as the visitors will have a large away support with the club putting on free coaches and like Coventry last night will be well up for not losing face in a local derby.
Scunthorpe are usually strong at home but got stuffed there by Kings Lynn recently, have lost 3 on the trot and have a few key riders carrying injuries.
The 5/1 for a Sheffield win is tempting but a more cautious approach and doing them +10 is probably the way to go.

Call me a sceptic but I think televised dogs is even more bent than usual.
Over-analysis is a total waste of time too IMO.
