They couldn't. Simply because they both play so similarly and neither benefits eachother. I would say Lampard is better in the deeper position and probably isn't as direct as Gerrard, so he gets the go ahead to play in centre midfield, Gerrard for me, is a pure attacking midfielder now, playing him deep pretty much wastes his talent. |

Kinda agree, don;t think he has the work ethic though, Heskey allows Gerrard and Lampard to do what they do. |
