| Don't like the news about Sky. BBC's coverage of F1 is pretty much spot on. No doubt Sky will have commercial breaks.
OT but Sky ruined golfs Masters, should be on BBC

| I look forward to Sky bringing the same professional, cutting edge coverage they had for A1 GP to Formula One.
No, really.

I'm hoping they'll use Keith Huewen as presenter as he's good doing the Indycar and Speedway.I'd also like them to nick David Croft off 5live to do the commentary.

BBC will show half the races including Monaco, Silverstone and the final race of the season.
Little bit gutted as I think the BBC coverage is excellent with a great announce team. Martin Brundle pushing infront of French film crews can be tv gold at times.'"
Looks like they've gone for the tv rights after being rebuffed over a potential takeover of F1.

yeah... To be fair with the money involved it was only a matter of time before sky jumped in.
I'm sure they will do a good job, but I personally love the BBC coverage...... Over the last few years I think the beeb have screwed lots of things up, from dramas to sports coverage..... But the F1 has always been top notch..... Yet another great sporting institution lost to the media empire.
P.S. I'm not a miserable old git, just set in my ways a little.

I agree, I've enjoyed the BBC coverage and it's a shame they'll only be covering half the races. With Sky having the tv rights, that should now put any plans they had to takeover dead in the water and out of the two options, the tv rights may be the lesser of two evils.

| Sky have now announced a dedicated F1 channel from next season. Sky Sports f1hd. Supposed to have a tonne of interactive options aswell.
Have also said they will show the races without advert breaks.
Am looking forward to seeing what they do but will miss the beeb coverage.

| Good of Vettel to fake a gearbox problem yesterday so Webber could have a turn at winning.
The Sky coverage is probably going to end up just being the same as BBC anyway, giving they've already got Brundle and members of the BBC production crew signed up.

| Someone needs to hire Rowan Atkinson as an F1 presenter. He'd be superb.

Why would he bother doing that though? If he was instructed to gift Webber a win, surely pulling over on the run up the hill would have made the point much more clearly. 2 years ago, I'd have agreed with you, but not these days.

If his gearbox really was that bad, why didn't he just park it indeed?
His lap times after Webber got past him certainly didn't tail off, and he comfortably held on to second place. Hardly indicative of a car that was holding Webber up on the track.
I see Bernie's been opening his gob again. Apparently Europe is no longer F1's spiritual home, despite it being where all the teams are based. He sees western Europe having maybe only five races in future calendars, replaced by the likes of South Africa, Russia and Mexico.
So look forward to more races with no fans in the stands on identikit Tilke tracks full of sweeping corners, long straights and perpetual boredom.
