Hypothetical question.

Had mayweather snr been his trainer for all of his career, would Hatton be an even better boxer?

David Copperfield had more chance of stopping Hatton than the Magic Man

It was a very good nights work for Ricky Hatton. Apart from a slightly sluggish first round he won every round comfortably and looked a class above Malignaggi to be honest who had a jab and that's it. It was as good a boxing performance that I've seen from Ricky for years, maybe his best. Malignaggi didn't want to know and spoiled the fight by hugging Hatton, which I found ironic considering his comments in the build up. If he hadn't kept holding Hatton after some big punches, he could have easily got knocked out.

This puts Ricky in the shop window for a big fight next year and I've no doubt his next fight will be against the winner of Pacquaio and De La Hoya. They'll want it just as much as Ricky.

Ricky is a massive draw probably one of the biggest if not the biggest in the sport

Starting at a young age and training with Mayweather several times a week id say no.

Born into the Mayweather family and brought up with boxing gloves instead of scratch mits then yes.

Most of what Hatton is about is natural raw aggression and strength. It can't be trained.

The Associated Press writes all three judges had it 99-91.

Probably feels like he's been on the biggest bender of his like, and then hit in the head with a plank of wood.

It was painful to watch, I couldn't imagine how he actually felt.

Whether Pacman beats Oscar or not, Hatton should fight him. I don't think anyone could beat Hatton at 140lbs. But he always seems to struggle when moving up divisions.
