In the first am thinking of backing Cue Card 4/1 either EW or a with a place around evens, I think it needs the longer trip and also needed a prep race before Cheltenham, so theres a chance that race did him good.

Plan A 6/1 well backed at Cheltenham didn't get the best of runs but the 2nd in that race ran Nicholls hotpot really close here on day one.

Fancy Persian Snow in the bumper backed it for Cheltenham after what someone had heard but it didn't go in the end, so at 12/1 will be having a go EW I think.

The little lad picked Bluesea Cracker (20/1) by scribbling on it with a crayon, so it has at least as much chance as mine.

Think I might go for Binocular now. Can't split the pair. But while Peddlers Cross is a top class horse with a great engine, Binocular is probably the best natural 2m hurdler in the game (alongside HF). He always travels strongly at Cheltenham, and has won at Aintree, so the step up will probably not hinder him.

He does have a nice cruising speed, though I'd be worried if Peddlers Cross started motoring a bit farther from home than would be preferred for Binocular. PC is as tough as they come so if Binocular was off the bridle too soon I'd be worried.


Gonna rule out any of the sloggers this year in the National as I had no luck when trying that approach last year. Gonna go for the types I have before which has usually done me ok.

Didn't get going in the Arkle but is a class act on as shown when beating Captain Chris twice I think its better after a recent run and the Arkle was its only run so far in 2011.

Was counting ny winnings on Mon Perrin from about 3 out, coudn't believe it when it got turned over.

Cant see it mentioned anywhere but Victor Chandler paying 1/4 for 6 places.

Finians Rainbow at 2:15 to make some money to play with in the National.

Had a fiver on Cue Card. Couldn't really split the top four in the betting. Glad Drive Time is ok what a sickening fall.

Spirit Son was brilliant.

Cue Card did very well to place, no pace so pulled way too hard and then the mistake.
