When the draw is made live on tv..............

Well, over the last five or six years, I can think of two meetings at the last eight stage of the CIS Cup and two early stage Scottish Cup meetings, one in the last eight and one in the last sixteen.

That is quite a high rate for early meetings and I dare say fans of the two clubs thought it was a fix to get the traditional small club in the final.

How many times have Dundee United and Dundee been drawn together in that same period, in those early stages of the competitions?

The former don't usually make it far enough

Whilst that was a bit of a low blow, the point you make is a good one. Rangers and Celtic traditionally go the furthest in the Cup competitions and therefroe have far more chance of being drawn against each other than Dundee United and the wee team from across the street.

Sadly we have not been drawn against the Dees nearly enough as it represents our only chance of a decent derby game at the moment.

Judging by what they did to the sheep in midweek, it's probably for the best

Can certainly see where you're coming from, and the defensive frailties were more than pointed out by St. Johnstone in the weekend, but with Zemamma on form and Benji potentially returning, I think we're possibly the best attacking side outwith the ugly sisters.

I definitley agree with that. Zemmamma is quality on his day it's a shame he's been unable to show it so far this season because of religious reasons. if he played against celtic hibs may have been looking at getting a point. it's those small things that can un-due your season.
