We can't afford his wages IMO and, in our current financial state, it's not a good move for him to be moving to a club with limited transfer funds available for him to build with.
He's a big fish in a small pond over there, correct me if I'm wrong but, he's the only manager currently managing in Serie A that's won a champions league, furthermore, the only serious competition in the league is from Juve and Milan, Milan, whilst playing well of late, are in a massive transitional phase with an inexperienced manager at the helm, whilst Juve just aren't good enough, I'm unconvinced by Ferrara.

| TBH I have absolutely no idea what's happening in Italy. The end of today's game is the only Italian football I've watched.
As much as I detest the thought of Mourinho managing Liverpool, I could see him taking over at Liverpool. He's never shied away from expressing his respect for Liverpool, he hates Benitez and taking over a cash-strapped Liverpool and being successful would be a slap in the face of his critics who say he's just been successful because of Roman's money.

| Fletcher was harshly sent off. Strictly speaking the second yellow could've been a yellow, he was beaten and held his leg out, but most refs would have given him a warning and not given a second booking.
Rooney was onside anyway for the equaliser. IMO he would've been active if he'd been offside, but the lino just made an error saying he was offside. The MotD summarisers said that Rooney would never have been given active because a Brum player knocked it in, but IMO he was clearly active as his presence meant that the Brum defender had to play it. IMO if you're in the 6 yard box and going for the ball, you are active whether you get to the ball or not.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

Whilst I full, whole-heartedly agree with you in principle, the letter of the (ridiculous) law would mean that Rooney was NOT offside, assuming he'd been in a more advanced position, as he was not active?!
Agree with you about Fletcher too, I wouldn't have been surprised to see his tackle earn him a booking, but not a second one. Nothing in it at all, seemed very harsh, most PL refs wouldn't have given him a second booking for that.

For me, "active" means you are following play, trying to compete for the ball. Rooney was doing that. I don't think you need to be the player who wins the ball to be deemed active.
For example, when someone is blatantly offside when walking back towards the halfway line. A defender calmly takes control of the ball. All that the offside player needs to do to become active is to change his walk into a run towards the defender carrying the ball. The instant he does that, the lino will flag him offside. It doesn't matter if he's touched the ball or close to touching it, it is his actions which make him active.

| Loved the ESPN commentators over-reaction to the 6 mins of 'Fergie time.' Away from home, down to 10 men against a team 12 games unbeaten, and 6 mins of injury time is an advantage to Utd?

Not as much as rooney or evra.
Need hargreaves back fit sharpish, stick him and fletchaldo in centre mid and we'll have a reasonable midfield.

| God we are $hite.
We defended the corner for their goal like we didn't know what to do. Kuszczack, despite not been a bad shot stopper, does not command the box like a keeper should, and he still gives me the $hits everytime he has the ball, he's clueless and his distribution is awful. You can tell that the defence have no confidence in him / don't have a clue if he's staying or coming. A prime example was when decided to slide and kick the ball into touch when the ball deflected off Brown.
Brown looks very shaky without Vidic at the side of him. I agree with saintyick, only Paddy Evra and Rooney seem interested, although Rooney's passing has been as bad as Kuszczack's all season. It was interesting to see that Fergie chose Paddy as captain yesterday, perhaps a sign that he is likely to be the captain when Neville retires in the summer.
It was good to see Diouf get a run about yesterday, although I'd have preferred him to be given more time. Hopefully, he gets more game time in the next few weeks, he's fast, strong, got a good touch and a great strike on him.
We need a decent signing or two in January to kick start our season and give us any chance of competing for silverware. VDS, Rio, Vida and Hargreaves need to get fit ASAP for us.

I presume there was no mention of Wenger-time from the earlier game at the Emirates then???

| Quote: Lord God Jose Mourinho "Saw that Inter were losing 3-2 at home to Siena, so watched the last few minutes in case Mourinho lost his first home league game for 7 years.
Sneijder smacked in a 30 yard free kick in off the post on 87 minutes and Samuel scored the winner in injury time finishing off a great passing move. Siena player gets a red card for (I think) giving the ref a mouthful after the final whistle.
Mourinho looks at his most passionate. Awesome manager. Just hope he doesn't spoil everything by taking over the scousers.'"
He was very animated after that goal went in. Cracking free kick though. Just glad Milito got out of way. Some superb goals in that game. Maccarone's was a stonking strike.
