| Quote: Asim "The rule is breached in both cases, Kovaleinen did similar at China and Silverstone as well in 2008 IIRC, if we follow your logic then it isn't a problem that Alonso went past Massa if he wins the title, after all Massa has no chance of doing that but Alonso has a slim one?
Either they are or were both wrong, or neither are - whoever the drivers and whatever the team involved, the nature of the sport and how it works make the "no team orders" rule a stupid one, because all the teams do it to one degree or another (apart from our brave boys obviously).'"
With the points system as it is and just under half of the season to go and Ferrari improving Massa has got as much chance as Alonso to win the title but your love of all things Alonso doesn't let you see that.
As for your 'brave boys' and 'our' Lewis comments I am as much if not more a Williams F1 fan than Hamilton or Button probably due to the fact of them being the dominant team when I started watching F1.

| I echo Asim's thoughts...the rule is shocking anyway (team orders) they are a team and therfore they should do waht they please, it was only brought in..in the first place because MS won a race that he shouldn't have when he was winning all the time anyway.

Alonso was 31 points ahead of Massa before today, he's been quicker all season and quicker all weekend - Massa only got in front at the start because Vettel was trying to block Alonso, I think it's pretty obvious who has the better chance of winning Ferrari the title.
I have no love of all things Alonso, I do think some of his petulance is quite amusing and makes him worth watching, I do find it amusing how he was loved in the British media for being the man who saw off Schumacher, but almost overnight became the villain because he didn't get on with our Lewis, and it's funny to see people get worked up about things he does that all drivers do/would do if given the chance. At least when Schumacher was driving people off the track it was easy and obvious to take against him.
I can't find it to "support" anyone in F1, the setup of it being nominally a team sport but the main prize being the drivers championship is a weird one that makes little sense.

| I just think that 1 year after Massa was nearly killed in a f1 car it would have been good for Ferrari to have let them battle for the win than make him move over,It's not as though Alonso is now favourite for the title with the extra points he got today.

Massa should have refused to move over, then they could have raced and we could have seen what happened, however they will have seen what happened when Vettel and Webber raced a couple of months back and, obviously, that would be the last thing they wanted.
Of course Massa didn't say no probably because he has a contract stipulating he is the number 2 driver, for me that shouldn't be allowed.

| At least we saw some overtaking today,it's Hungary next week and usually more chance of getting blood out of a stone than watching an exiting race at that track

| Interesting to see or should that be no sign of Luca di Montezemolo spouting that the race "was misrepresentative" & "that is a very serious and unacceptable event that creates dangerous precedents, throwing a shadow over the credibility of Formula One"
Funny how Alonso isn't shouting from the rooftops about this race been manipulated.

| Not a big F1 fan but ended up watching todays GP as my brother-in-law follows it, was worth watching it just for Eddie Jordan afterwards, thought it was going to come to blows when talking to that bloke from Ferrari after the race.

| Quote: Wakefieldite "Just seen on Top Gear a wonderful sequence on quite frankly (in my opinion) the greatest F1 driver of them all, Ayrton Senna Da Silva. So on that note, who is everyone's favourite F1 driver of all time?'"
I saw that too. I only actually started watching F1 around the time of his last title/Mansell's year, so I didn't get to see a great deal of Senna in a truly competitive car, or really fully appreciate what I was seeing. Some of the footage shown on that Top Gear piece definitely makes me want to see more, I'll be keeping an eye out for that documentary they mentioned.
I have a problem with Schumacher. There's no doubting he was exceptional, but his dominance was certainly aided by him having a very impressive car, with the only other guy with a matching one having explicit instructions not to beat him.

| ferrari had a one two, they decided to switch the positions which gained the team nothing
when both drivers can still win the title that is wrong and against the rules to favour one driver
alonso cant handle a team mate who will challenge him, the best drivers of all time werent afraid to go toe to toe with a man in the same equipment, it's a tainted victory if team orders are brought in at this early stage to give away positions, the mclarens are racing and so are the red bulls, the ferraris should do the same

| The Ferrari International Assistance group come to the aid of the Prancing Horse with a little fine over an obvious coded instruction for Massa to move. Poor Massa as you could see it in his face how pickled he was with it and his response in the press conference said it all as well as his race engineer saying sorry.

Jordan ad Domenicali are friends and were having a laugh.

| I'm sure that £64,000 fine will really hit Ferrari where it hurts.
No, really.
Is there any point in having a rule that says "no team orders" when it's not backed up by a stronger sanction?
