| Bets of today. Wasn't impressed. Had 4/5 to pay £60 off £1.50 and had 2/3 draws that payd £30 off a cheeky pound

| I know Warrington are much improved this season but I can't get away from thinking that Featherstone +38 points (10/11 with Skybet and Betfred) is a fair bet. The Wolves will be without playmakers Lee Briers and Michael Monaghan as well as prop forward Garreth Carvell.

Just be careful on that with us - two reasons.
1. Hull KR aside we have defended well this year, so work on the assumption we defend as per and Featherstone don't score more than say 6-10.
2. It's a seriously lovely day here, perfect RL rugby for a side that likes to throw the ball about. I know we're missing Monas & Briers, but we still have Solomona, Vinnie Anderson, Bridge, Myler etc that are 'flair' players that you'd figure will enjoy today.

| Can anyone who know how the computer systems in bookies (Carney's Pint??) give me some advice om the following:
Most of my bets are done on line but yesterday, whilst out, I did a couple of £5 ew bets on the Scottish National. One of which was No Panic @ 50/1, which got a place.
Looking at my slip this morning, on the copy that they give me back, the 'No Panic' bit is so feint it is almsost unreadable, in fact, if I didn't know what it said, I would struggle to read it myself. It almost looks like I have written it on in pencil after the event (I haven't).
Do the bookies keep my original slip or is it just scanned? In which case I doubt the horse name will be visible.
I don't know how it came out so feint as the time of the race etc is ultra clear but accept it's totally my fault for not checking whilst still in the shop.
Am I wasting my time making a trip to claim my winnings? Could I claim my stake back as a void bet.
Please advise this numpty. Glad it didn't win now

If they can't tell what it says you have no chance mate but on a 50/1 E/W place might as well give it a shot.
One today
Consulate 16/1 E/W Stratford 5.15
Handicap debut jockey takes 7lbs off could be well in here, its only run this year was at the festival in the Neptune (god knows why) so its pretty fresh its won at this course and distance and acts best on this ground.
Bookies paying 4 places at the moment but expect a few to drop out.

I'm pretty certain you will be ok. I'm guessing your slip has a bar code on it? Having worked with computer systems in the past I'm pretty certain that your barcode will have the bet saved in their database regardless of whether it is visible on the slip or not.

| You should be fine Deano - if you placed it in Hills, Betfred, Coral or Tote they use a system called EPOS. The other big firms use other software that operates in a similar way.
It scans the bet slip and the cashier/manager etc "translate" ie. type what it says into the system. They'll scan the slip and pay you out providing it's been translated properly. If not they have to keep all the slips for a period of at least 6 months according to law so you could ask them to go through the old slips for you if they dispute what you say or ask to speak to their area manager. The slips should be close at hand as it was only placed yesterday.
Who did you place it with? (hope you don't mind me asking)

| Well a Blackpool (+icon_cool.gif and Batley (-22) double nets me £73 from £20.
Must say I feared the worst when Blackpool were 12 down at half time and Batley were plodding along.

You'll be fine with Coral.
