Owens biggest problem, in the last two season has been his desire imo, he has looked like someone one looked disinterested in the game. Going to Utd would change that and maybe Fergie's passion would reignite his desire for the game?

If that is the case then Utd have a useful squad player who would certainly score more goals than Tevez and it could be a potentially excellent deal for the player and club. Owen also has the incentive of it being a WC year and if he plays well with Rooney it code bode well with Capello.



That said Utd still need to bring in a striker and a midfielder, going into the season with only Rooney, Berba and Owen plus the current midfield which inculdes Giggs and Scholes would imo see us finishing in 3rd behind Liverpool and Chelsea.

Reminds me of the Larsson deal this one. United really can't lose with it. I don't expect this to alter any transfer plans. I still expect to see a couple of Madrid rejects and Aguero at United.

As i've said before, Owen is a very good player if you can keep him fit, i honestly think he would be a good player for United.

Agreed, but those thinking Owen is going to be a super sub could be proved wrong. He's always needed game time to get form and fitness and I can't see him just being able to porduce the goods in the same way Solskjaer did.

On the contrary IMO that is EXACTLY what Nited have been lacking for a few years now...I'd still want us to sign another, younger forward/striker but to be honest I can't see too many outstanding candidates.
