DeGale should have been docked at least one point for use of the shoulder and elbow in the earlier rounds when Groves was frustrating him. Super fight, super result!

Brilliant tactical fight. DeGale showed his lack of class by turning nasty when he got frustrated. I'm sure both fighters will go all the way and would be shocked to see a replay not on the cards.

I'm not a massive boxing fan(although watch more recently(when it's free )) but for some reason I hate Degale( he's a c**T) just personal opinion obv.

Groves fought a good fight Adam Booth is a very decent trainer! De Gale needs to 'do a Khan' and get himself in with one of the top class coaches, he has the talent to go all the way

Disagree about De Gale, I think he is very avarage and I cant believe how much he has been hyped up. Not in Khan's league imho. Made himself look stupid with some of his pre fight comments too.

Get a top quality team behind him and I think he could go far, he needs to sort his punching out, he still slaps too much. Not comparing him to Khan, but I think if he followed his steps it would do him a lot of good.

i thought it was a pretty poor fight, groves ran all the fight, but i guess thats what he needed to do to win..hardly any massive hits or dust ups due to groves running.

id of gone for a draw as a fair result.... wouldnt really fancy paying again to watch a rematch on box office and why would groves give degale a rematch now after beating him twice?!!?

the cleverley fight got stopped..what a joke that was!!! the polish guy was def in the fight and mixing it with cleverley....why the hell was it stopped cant understand it

For the neutral it was probably quite boring, but I've been a fan of Groves for quite a while now, and I thought he put on a very good display. DeGale is not all that special, IMO Paul Smith was one of the poorest British champions out there when DeGale beat him, I think Groves would take Smith out in similar fashion. Groves was poor against Anderson, but had been very impressive prior to that fight, but the media obviously hadn't done their homework and just looked at the Anderson and Smith fights respectively and jizzed all over DeGale.
Hopefully Groves will get a bit more credit now, I don't think he ran, he out manouvered DeGale for the first half of the fight, and landed more punches, with better accuracy. DeGale probably put in the more stinging shots, but he looked confused and gun shy for a lot of the fight. I'd like to see DeGale in there with Anderson next...

30 quid on at 3/1, a nice pick up this morning. Was impressed with Groves, he fought the fight to win it, and it proved decisive in the end. Shuts that idiot up for a while now too.

Hopkins is a racist, ignorant pr1ck but you can't deny his ability. If you don't have more than one or 2 strings to your bow Hopkins will ruin you.

I agree he's a dick head but hard to knock the oldest ever world champion on his boxing ability. Every fight of his I've seen he has spoiled and held and worked the referee but to be in that shape at his age is frankly amazing. Great boxing skills again as well.
