IMO if the teams were level at the end of extra time it should have gone back to the points gathered in the group stage.

If I were them I'd be very upset that for the ninth consecutive year the Challenge Cup final is being held in England. Kingsholm has been picked as a decent sized stadium far enough away from Northampton to be "neutral" IMO.
As far as the date is concerned, delaying it until the end of the French Top 14 season would adversely impact on Northampton, as their season is already finished and they would be going into the final without having played for a month. If it was always going to be on that particular weekend I can't see why it should be moved just to suit Bourguin.

Isn't that just incredibly sickening to hear. The support Union gets from the media and Government is ridiculous and totally undeserved.
But already you know that every ground will be full to the rafters. The sport is superbly run.

In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

you'd think that the governement would get right behind the rfl's bid to host the next rugby league world cup as well.
questions have already been raised, although im sure they'll be swept under the oxbridge old boys carpet, as to whether it's wise and indeed morally right to bid for a rugby union world cup in the current financial situation. i may be wrong but im pretty sure that the irb demand 80million pounds for hosting the event.

ARU boss John O'Neill labels cross-code clash daft ARU boss John O'Neill has ridiculed a proposal to have Australia take on New Zealand in a so-called "Forty40 Footy" clash of rugby union and rugby league as "daft".
The audacious cross-code plan for the Wallabies to tackle the All Blacks for one half and the Kangaroos to play the world champion New Zealand rugby league team for the other 40 minutes is the brainchild of Harvey Lister, head of AEG Ogden.
The venue management guru is reportedly pushing for the two codes to come together for the "Forty40 blockbuster" at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium next year.
