Surely, it would've been better from the club to announce this at the time rather than say it was due to his development.

He confirmed what we all knew already...it wasn't down to Llajic's talent, which makes yesterday's statement even more stupid.

The fact that Fergie hasn't turned up / spoke up about it, makes me think that he is pi$$ed off, IIRC he personally attended a hearing last year to push for reasons to get Tosic a work permit, if Llajic was more talented, I'm sure he'd have done the same with him. |

But hadn't Tosic already been fully capped by Serbia quite a bit before going United? I'm pretty sure one of the big things for getting a work permit is international caps, so that may have made things easier for Tosic, even if he didn't require the 75% or whatever it is.

Aye he had.
Not sure if Anderson had for Brazil though, and he was awarded a WP on similar grounds.
Phelan didn't rule out the possibility that we could still sign Llajic in January / summer, it seemed as though he'd be chucked out there without been informed of the full story. "I don't think so" was the response to a question on whether money was to blame.

Posted this morning at 9am on another forum
There's a fella on another forum I frequent who sat in on a meeting of people putting corporate hospitality deals together for big banking players in The City. Apparently....... They knew that England would be seeded, and that they will be drawn in Group C. I don't believe this for a minute, but if I posted this after the draw, and it turns out to be true, you wouldn't believe I had heard this. So we'll see.
