| Gutted!
Roddick bottled it big time in the second set tie break but what an effort to come back from it and take Federer all the way.
Roddick won more games, broke Federer's serve more and yet because of two tie breaks, he has come out in second place. I think Roddick deserved to win but that's the nature of the tie break. Serving second in that final set was also a massive disadvantage.
That said, Federer is a true great. Gone off him a bit since he won the French, and I think Roddick came across a lot better in the post match interviews but I must still admire what a fantastic champion Roger is.

| Mixed feelings really. I didn't think Roddick would get anywhere near Federer, but tbh he should have won. Roddick's longer matches seemed to catch up with him physically near the end, and Federer had a bit more mentally.

| Roddick ran out of gas big time towards the latter stages. Shame as well, as I thought he deserved it. Think was was due to Federer playing alot less sets throught the tournament, and also being a lighter mover on his feet.

I don't think Federer comes across badly in interviews, but because of the quality of sportsmanship in interviews from players like Nadal and Roddick, he does sometimes come across arrogant.
But then again, you could say, he is still extremely humble for someone that is labelled the greatest ever Tennis player, ahead of the likes of Rod Laver and Pete Sampras.
As for the match itself, I always felt in the final set that although Roddick would not go away, Federers superb grit and determination (mentioned by Roddick in the post match interview) would get him through the match.
Credit to the modern game of tennis on the mens side really that for 2 years in succession, the final has been talked upon as the greatest ever.

| Gutted for A-Rod. He was very good for the whole match. After he lost the second set i thought Fed would go on to win in 4 but he held on.
Great match to watch.

I normally like Federer and he's one of, if not the greatest player imho. BUT did anyone else think having a tracksuit top handy immediately after the match with "15" on the back was a bit arrogant and disrespectful? Maybe its just his management pushing it, as he normally seems humble, as you say.

I thought that a bit. He might as well have given Roddick a top as well with '3 time loser' on it.
