I'm sorry but Cadle is useless, Coombs or anybody who can read an autocue puts Cadle to shame. Halling is ok and Carlson is superb IMO

Carlson is far from superb. He is completely annoying. Him and Coombs, who is always doing stupid hand gestures, make stupid jokes between themselves and laugh at anything. Everything the actual in-game commentators say he says he said/noticed even if he didn't. The whole 5 production is amateurish at best.

Cadle and Halling are decent but are far more professional than 5.

And you know he didn't notice it how? I'm amazed anybody can find Cadle professional. The guy bumbles through everything, it's rare when he actually gets a link fluently right. Coombs isn't brilliant but i'd rather have someone other enthusiastic than barely interested at all.

As for your problem with Carlson i really don't get that one at all. He breaks it down brilliantly and helps people like myself pick up the strategy of the defence easily. You need to remember we aren't all supergenius' like yourself

I don't know whether he noticed it or not. However a hell of a lot of the time he says, oh well i saw what whoever saw also. It just gets annoying him constantly repeating everything and seeing the same replay with him talking as we just saw with the American commentators talking.

Coombs, i have no problem with his enthusiasm, but he is always moving his hands, which is quite annoying, and he gets players names/teams/previous team played for wrong a number of times. Do some research Coombs!



I'm not a supergenuis. I know plently about the game and the different strategies though, and Carlson does break it down pretty well. However as a broadcaster surely it is his job to promote the game? He spent an entire broadcast saying how bad the Packers and Lions were, how bad the NFC North is, how bad the game was, how bad the referees were etc. He finds things like calling Atari Bigby "video game" or something like that hilarious and spent about 5 minutes talking and laughing about it.

His breaking down of plays is decent and his pre-game key things are decent also, if a little obvious, but i just don't find him professional enough.

I think he does the criticism with a hint of humour. I know i get it but it may pass others by. I'd also suggest the audience that the 5 guys get is probably going to be more die hard fans. If your watching an NFL match at 1am its for the love of the game not casually flicking through. I seem to remember Carlson being very professional in the BBC coverage last year alongside Woodson?

For my money the best team to present the NFL would be to get Halling presenting it with Carlson and possibly Reinebold on the panel. Coombs has probably got the 5 gig as he will be cheap, has an interest (all be it sometimes misguided) in the game and proper presenters wouldn't be to interested in the sort of gig that has you up till 5am.

Big call at WR for me this afternoon. Fully fit Collie or questionable Boldin. Im leaning Collie's way as im at work this afternoon and wont know about Boldin till too late!

Shattered today from out 'scrimmage' against Manchester yesterday. We played the 1st half as 10 plays each way with all coaches on the field as refs and to give us advice. (Got a nice headbutt from the reciever i was covering as well when he tried run blocking)

Second half we just played as a game (albeit without special teams) won 35-7 in the end but overall we weren't great. Though have to say that playing a reciever at DE can have fantastic results, he got 2 sacks and 3 tackles for loss, without actually knowing any of the playbook.

I did mess up on a tackle (shed my WR easily, got into the backfield but didnt wrap up on the RB) which cost us a 1st down, and i know im going to get shown up in the game tape for it. But apart from that i had a great time.

My shock fantasy starts of the week are Chad Henne & Panthers D, replacing Carson Palmer & Vikings D

Im still sticking with Michael Crabtree I hope it doesnt backfire
