Yorkshire have indeed been beaten by Somerset! Superb effort by Somerset, Hildreth with an awesome 102 off 70 balls!
On the flip side, It looks like Hampshire will beat Notts too, surprisingly after one bit, interesting stuff with the top 2 sides losing. Opens everything out now.
Well it's 18:09 and Hampshire need 7 to win with 2 wickets left.

| Looks like there will be less of you Yorkies on here in the next few days going on and on about how good you are Notts well ahead of you and Lancs just 6 points behind you with both teams having a game in hand. It's not going to be as easy as you lot thought it would be is it.

| Quote Asim="Asim"One of the good things about this season so far has been the way players have come into the side and made positive contributions, it's not just a first XI that are doing the business.
Still, I'll keep my healthy scepticism that I save for all the teams I follow and insist that it's bound to go tits-up sooner or later!'"
Tits up it has indeed gone!

| Yorkshire lost chasing the win, better than sitting it out for the draw like the old days
Well done to Yorkshire and the people who changed the scoring system this year

Yup, there were only two realistic results on that pitch heading into the last day - Yorkshire were unlikely to be able to bowl Somerset out and force the win.
With the difference of only four points between a loss and a draw these days though, it was worth taking the gamble and seeing if they got reckless in their chase?
Isn't this the second year in a row Somerset have chased down a massive target to beat Yorkshire in the last innings at Taunton?
Given that Yorkshire were missing their two best bowlers and their captain it's a bit rich to start saying it's all gone belly up on the basis of that one defeat.

My comment was merely about the Somerset game, not the season

| This may have already been mentioned but cba/ too lazy to trawl through all 30 odd pages of this thread. How long have teams been able to use 12 players during a championship game? Notice Lancs did it in their last game against Warwickshire and Essex have nominated 12 playes today.

| Yorkshire back in the saddle straight away against Hampshire at Southampton today.
Put in to bat by the home side, 115-0 at lunch.
No Lumb or Pietersen for Hants, no Bresnan or Shahzad for Yorkshire. Gale back for Ballance, Pyrah in for Wainwright as the fourth seamer.

Adam Lyth going well again, he's been outstanding so far this season.
