Did you watch the video? He's giddy with excitement at the prospect of United coming to visit. He's gushing with praise over Ferguson and virtually offering his manager to United whenever Ferguson retires.

They didn't want to give it to a diver who sets a bad example to the kiddies.

A whole 2 points more, and you seem to conveniently be ignoring the fact that Everton also knocked Man Utd, so have in fact removed both the 1st and 2nd placed team in the country from the competition. Significantly better only because it suits your argument/viewpoint.



Gerrard and Torres are better than anything Chelsea have IMO. However, that doesn't mean they have a better [icollection[/i of players. It's not difficult to understand, Chelsea have a squad that is better equipped to mount a serious title bid because they have more depth, Liverpool simply outperformed you by being consistently able to win ugly when they had to. That's mainly down to Benitiez's tactics IMO.



Try reading the thread, you'll see I've already pretty much said that very thing to Keith. Possibly the most consistent, but I still think he's far from the best.

Benitez has only managed 3 points more than Chelsea all season, and that's in a season where Chelsea deemed the first manager as not up to the required standard. But many people on here seem to think that 3 point margin is enough for Benitez to be rated higher than Hiddink, but they don't consider Hiddink taking 2 points more than Benitez to be worthy?



I made comment about Everton knocking Man Utd reserves out in my initial post where I gave my rankings and the reasons.



Liverpool outperformed Chelsea when Chelsea were managed by Scolari. Chelsea outperformed Liverpool when Chelsea were managed by Hiddink.

Benitez has been at Liverpool for 5 years. If he hasn't managed to get the strength in depth to challenge for the title than that's his fault.

Alonso is quality. Why they want to let him leave for Barry is beyond me. Barry is a neat an tidy player but doesn't have the range of passing that Alonso has.

I don't think we want to get rid of him, but every player has his price, and if we can get around £25m for Alonso then I can see why Rafa would sell and bring in Barry for half of that.

He's had a standout season compared to a few very mediocre ones over recent years, but I still feel Gerrard has been the man this year. All those games Torres was out of and he was just on a different level to anybody else in our team.
