Ryan Harris, 30 year old Australian quick with one solitary ODI appearance for his country and an injury record as long as your arm.
Do I smell another Rana Naved in the offing...?'"
Is Harris still coming? Given his record in ODI's over the winter, and the fact he's now made his test debut I'd have thought the ACB were having second thoughts.

| Quote SalfordSlim="SalfordSlim"Seriously though, it pains me to say it but I can't look much past Durham again this year. Lots of fringe/international class players (Di Venuto, Harmy, Chanderpaul etc) along with some good local talent (from what I hear) coming through.'"
Chanderpaul has gone. Durham have no overseas player signed for this season as yet. But yes, they look like clear favourites to me with Notts probably the likeliest challengers, and maybe Hants if Kabir Ali & Simon Jones settle in and stay fit. (Obviously that's a big if in Jones' case.)
*Any chance the mods could detatch the last few posts and make it into a new thread? I didn't want to start a new one when people were already posting on here.

Sort of.
He's likely to be involved in the Australian one-day side and the ACB are asking Yorkshire to rest him until the end of May.
Yorkshire signed Darryl Tuffey for the early part of the season, who subsequently broke his hand.
Last I heard they were trying to put together a deal to get Tino Best in until Harris is available.

Best's work permit has now been granted, according to [url=http://www.cricinfo.com/countycricket2010/content/current/story/455809.htmlthis[/url.
Vital we pick up points early on because we are going to be hit hard by international call-ups this year.

You reckon?
Might lose Bresnan and maybe Shahzad for the one-day stuff, but I can see Bresnan being the sacrificial lamb to make way for Anderson's return and England going back to six specialist batsmen in the Test arena.
Rashid seems to have fallen off the England radar entirely (after a couple of winters spent as Isotonic-wallah) and none of the batters are in danger of an international call at this stage in their careers.

It's absurd that (other than the championship istelf) clubs don't even know what they're playing for this season in terms of promotion & relegation, as the constitution of the Championship for 2011 won't be decided until near the end of this season. All that seems certain is it will no longer consist of nine two team divisions with all teams playing each other twice.

I didn't mean in terms of numbers, given the lack of depth in our seam attack if we just lose Bresnan and Shahzad for a few games then we could struggle.
Having said that I haven't checked the international calendar for this year so I don't know when any call-ups would hit and how it would affect us.

The back to back Tests against Bangladesh clash with Hampshire away and Lancs at home in the Championship.
The first two Tests against Pakistan clash with Notts at home.
The third and fourth Tests clash with Durham away and Hampshire at home.
So that's potentially five Championship fixtures where Yorkshire could be weakened by Test calls, although Hampshire, Lancashire and Notts would all most likely be missing key players too.
