....Its obvious from the tone of your posts that you don't rate Khan, but you do make me laugh with this assumption that once he gets hit by a big puncher then he will get knocked out?
The fact is, he has only been knocked out twice, both times against fighters he could be accused of under-rating....The biggest puncher he has ever faced, Marcos Maidana, he outboxed and, despite some scares which were only to be expected, he looked very good and very well prepared.
It seems to me that Khan's biggest enemy is over confidence - The more people expect him to get ko'd, the less its likely to happen, and vice versa when he faces a seemingly easier opponent.
Boxing wise, Khan is a class act....He has fast hands and hits accurately, he just needs to be more clever when he steps up to the top level.

nope dont rate khan, only gets credit for beating maidana in my book, showed great heart but that fight so easily could of been stopped by the ref at stages, fight of the year!!! loved it, why not get it on again? oh hang on....
once he gets caught he does his bambi leg wobbles, even fighters like limond and gomez but him on his backside (getting a longer than 10 count for the limond drop )
at world level he will get caught out again.
lightning hand speed though.

I'm not sure what Khan gains by having a rematch with Maidana....The only time he will need that fight is if he loses again and needs to make cash by getting involved in title-less fights that appeal to US audiences, in a similar way to the Gatti-Ward series.
While the first fight was a great one and Maidana certainly had his moments, the fact is, Khan was a class above him - On my card, he won it clearly by 4 or 5 points, and the suggestion that the ref could have stopped Khan is a bizarre one...Yes, he was wobbled and was on unsteady legs, but if he had been stopped, it would have been a scandal as Khan had similarly had Maidana in big trouble at various points in the bout.

this is what will seperate khan from the others... would get much more respect from the fans if he gave them what they wanted like as you say gatti-ward.. marquez-pacman.. eubank-benn.
i think khan was one more shot away from being KO'd by maidana, was a brilliant fight, shame there was no part 2.
id like to see him take on judah again too as this was abit of a strange fight the way it was stopped! might happen as garcia fights judah next?
imagine when khan goes up to welterweight, the punchers will be even harder! but he can always look for an opponent with a low KO ratio.
how the hell has arthur abraham wrangles himself another world title
think thats it for the big fights now for a while isnt it? can look forward to kell brook in feb time.

| Well Khan wanted to fight Bradley and unify the division but Bradley didn't want to know. So he went to Peterson's backyard to fight him instead, Peterson was a top 5 rated LWW, he wasn't given the decsion but I thought he won, and then he took on Garcia to unify again, he took a thunderous shot which would have finished most fighters - even Garcia's power was too much for a roided up iron chinned Moarales. The fact is there arn't many big punchers in the LWW division apart from Garcia, Maidana and Lucas Matthysse. Matthysse is now the mandatary for Garcia's WBC title so a fight between him and Khan may happen next year.
Even at WW the 4 current champions (Gurrerro, Bradley, Alexander, Malinaggi) arn't punchers. As a boxing fan I want to see the best in each division fight each other, Khan has done that generally, and although some of his opponents may not be power punchers he's always in exciting fights it seems.

| Khan has mentioned originally he was keen on having Naazim Richardson be his new trainer (the fact they share the same religion may possibly have been a factor) but Richardson doesn't believe Khan should be fighting @ 140, but I think Khan has played an absolute master stroke in recruiting Virgil Hunter; he's the main reason why Ward is as good as he is rather than Ward's own natural ability IMO.
Having seen a lot of footage of Hunter it's clear to me that Freddie Roach isn't even in this guy's league on a lot of levels. I'd go so far as to say that Roach was a bad influence on Khan in terms of how he conducted himself and I get the impression Khan now realises this.
Under Hunter Khan has no option but to remain humble and get his head down and in turn I think Hunter will be a really positive influence on Khan as a fighter and a person. Hunter has already said that had he been around when Garcia's dad was trash talking whilst Khan was speaking at press conferences, that he would have interceded and shut Garcia Snr up. Things like this maybe small but it will help Khan focus
I think Khan should go for Peterson first and then Garcia next summer. Then he can move up to 147 were there are mega fights.

| Interestingly, Khan never does any training outside his training camps. Hunter has said he will now be training a few times a week outside of his training camps.

| Anyone seen much of Deontay Wilder? He's a 6'8 HW prospect from America, he's not that great technical but I reckon he's got more power than Price from what I've seen, 100% KO ratio so far after 26 fights, albeit against weak oposistion. I reckon Fury and Price would out-box him at the moment but he's one to keep an eye on.

There's lots of ifs and buts with these HW contenders at present.....Wilder looks strong and powerful, but he really has been fighting bottom grade fighters - His latest KO victory was very amateur looking, and, at the moment, I'd say Price is head and shoulders above him.
You never know how things will develop though....At least he actually looks mildly threatening, unlike a lot of the recent US heavyweights.

| The HW division isn't as dead as its made out to be, there's a few good fights that could get made but it seems the fighters and promotors are scared of losing a potential shot at one of the brothers. Povetkin, Pulez, Price, Fury, Boystov, Wilder, Arreola, Chageav, they could all fight each other. 2013 could be the year HW boxing becomes relevant again.
Also I see Golden Boy have applied for a liscense to promote events in the UK. That could be a huge boost for the sport in this country.

i think they are all just waiting for the brothers to retire... then they can call themselves the heavyweight champ with 3 belts up for grabs
