Not seen the Khan fight but it sounded like a belter!

Khan's making noises about wanting Mayweather, so I suspect a rematch may be the fallback position for when Floyd turns in down.

I'm still not entirely convinced about DeGale - looks like the boxing equivalent of a flat-track bully to me who will struggle at true world level where he's going to get fighters prepared to stand on his toes.

I don't think a rematch is an option the Khan camp would pursue - Maidana is as tough as they come and not the kind of fight you want on a regular basis. The winner of Bradley/Alexander in the summer and then a move up to 147 where they will probably go straight for Mayweather - Roach believes both Pacquiao and Khan can beat him and you suspect he can't wait to get either of them a shot.

As for DeGale, you would expect anyone with big ambitions to dispose of a domestic plodder like Smith. That said he wasn't hurting Smith much, he was very scruffy close up and he has a slappy, unimpressive punching style that reminds me a bit of Calzaghe - he was clearly outboxing Smith but the ref stopped it way too early IMO. Lots to work on but he's got a lot of talent too.

The rest of the British card was poor, Brook's opponent looked hopeless even before the bell started, Macklin and Cleverly both should have done better although both had troubled build-ups. Bellew and McKenzie at the end was by far the most entertaining fight on the Liverpool bill, don't think either of them regard defence too highly.

Just watched the 10th round of the Khan fight. Boy did he get lucky. That should have been stopped IMO. After taking the shot Khan checked out for the rest of the round. I'd be interested to see how many punches he threw after that shot. I personally would have stopped the fight, you could see Khan still had bambi legs when heading to his corner at the end of the round.

Would have been a poor stoppage for me, he was still capable of getting himself out of the situation and proved that - 'checking out' of the round as you put it constitutes self-protection IMO.

Getting yourself out of a situation? Is that what Audley did against Haye? Khan was incapable of throwing shots. He was on bambi legs until he got to his stool. He could have suffered some serious damage in those 2 minutes. I like to see boxers given a chance to fight but that wasn't fighting.

After hearing Khan visited the hospital of his own accord for a brain scan (there was no recommendation from the Dr.) after the fight, I hope he hasn't been to brave for his own good and suffers further down the track...

Had it been a non-title fight it may well have been.

I think he may have been a bit too brave for his own good it might have been worth taking a count.

That said he was protecting himself and the flurry he threw towards the end of the round probably helped.

He was still back peddling in the 11th until he landed a peach of an uppercut that would have dropped many a fighter.

Technical draw - two judges scored it a draw, one gave it to Hopkins.

Say what you like about the old guy, he still finds a way to be competitive at world level even if it's not always entertaining to watch.

yeh was a draw, b-hop not too happy with the result....but did he get dropped twice in the fight? hard to say you won when you were knocked down twice.

I can't see Khan risking a fight with Kell Brook. Not enough money for the risk of the fight. I reckon he'll take an 'easier' fight after his last one.

Talk of Pacquaio v Mosley in May. Contracts to be signed after Christmas apparently.
