| Quote: Dan_FC "Nah he wouldn't, he would win it hands down. '"
Why?
I'll answer that. It's because Joe Royle's career took a nosedive and he's presently back at Oldham Athletic. While David Moyes has achieved very little compared to Royle but people are still imagining him going on to higher things. There's no guarantee that Moyes would do anything good at a top side, he could crash and burn.
Joe Royle managed Everton for three years and brought them an FA Cup victory. Royle took Oldham Athletic from the second division to the Premier League. If you want to make out that Moyes is the best manager in the league because he has little cash compared to the top 4, you have to make a similar concession to the work that Royle did at Oldham Athletic and the fact he actually won something at Everton.

I didn't think you were talking whole careers I thought you just meant at Everton. Royle bought us the FA Cup, yes, but apart from that very poor performances, near relegation and a poor squad of players. Moyes on the same sort of money has brought us a top four finish, two top five finishes, a decent run in Europe and an FA Cup final. Yes, until he wins something people will always have reservations about him but he is producing so much more on the field that Royle ever would or could have. The squad, the quality of younger players and the players moyes can attract Royle could get nowhere near.

Moyes has taken Everton to near-relegation as well. It's just that Moyes has been given the time to ride out the bad periods, while Royle walked after his.
Quote: Dan_FC "Moyes on the same sort of money...'"
Moyes has had significantly more money than Royle was given. Royle walked because he wasn't backed over the signing of a couple of players on transfer deadline day. Moyes broke the club's transfer record by signing Beattie, did it again with Andrew Johnson, did it again with Yakubu and again with Fellaini. That's about 44m pounds splashed on 4 players.

Its more to do with the money bags of the 21st C that cockle than anything else.
Anyway, a Chelski fan questioning Evertons spending What next?

Not as near relegation as Royle did. He was given the time he deserved, why do you think Moyes was given time and Royle wasn't because the board know how good a managers Moyes is and they realised Royle isn't and wasn't going to take us anywhere.
If you think Joe Royle is a better manager than David Moyes then you are completely off your rocker.

Again, Moyes has been backed with cash because the board know he is a good manager and has brought us some fantastic signings for next to nothing.
