| Quote: The Angry Pirate "Kessler is finished with a bad injury....Froch's next fight will be a semi final of the SuperSix series, which is apparently going to be against Glen Johnson and then, hopefully, a final against Andre Ward or Abraham.
You have to give Froch credit....Despite all the bad mouthing he has received from Calzaghe, he is steadily building a legacy that the Welshman could only dream of.....Maybe if Calzaghe had shown more ambition in his choice of opponent, then perhaps he could have been remembered in a higher esteem that he presently is....Its because of this that you have to wonder if Calzaghe might be getting itchy feet?'"
Agree mate.
Calzaghe spent his career cherry picking his opponents defending his lower-rated WBO belt before chasing unification clashes. He had an exceptional work rate and was technically very good but I don't think his chin was ever tested by someone of Froch's punching power and I don't think Calzaghe punched that hard in the context of him being a Super Middle Weight.
If Froch performed anywhere near the standard he boxed last night he'd have beaten Kessler comfortably which puts Calzaghe's performance against Kessler into context IMO.

| Finally Froch put that superb jab into use for the full 12 rounds, and he boxed Abraham' head off his shoulders as a result (George Groves take note!). Best 12 rounds of boxing I've seen put together from a British fighter in a long, long time (Calzaghe vs Lacy?).
Well done Carl, always rated you as absolute class and glad to see you are showing it. I genuinely think he can win the super 6, as long as he boxes at range behing the jab. The awkward angles he comes in from were confusing the hell out of Abraham. Because his hands are low, you do not know which hand is coming next, and he carries genuine power in both hands. Abraham will have had nightmares about Froch's left, it must have been some sort of record for eating jabs.

| It was an awesome display by Froch, the best display of his career and he's starting to build a very good legacy. I hope he doesn't take Johnson lightly though. He's still very dangerous, and he's probably the most power in the S6, Froch can't afford to get involved in a war against him.
As for the Froch-Calzaghe, I think prime for prime Calzaghe would win, and win well. His speed, angles and adaptability would be too much for Carl. Although I think Froch would KO Calzaghe now. Calzaghe is nearly 40 and should stay retired.

| Audley Harrison vows to continue, claiming he was just getting into the fight with David Haye when he got tagged and that the referee was too hasty in stopping it??
Is this proof that Harrison is mentally ill??....Should he actually have his licence revoked so as to protect him from possible damage??....What planet is Harrison on??....etc, etc.....

His reputation is destroyed, the only fights he'll get are bums and prospects wanting a former European champ and world title contender on their record and I doubt he'll ever fight in Britain again.
He should just hang up the gloves.

Now it sounds like an abdominal muscle tear.
Something about it just doesn't seem right though. I see Gavin pulled out of his fight too. Was thinking about paying for the even too! Maybe not now

| gutted the chisora fight is off... something doesnt seem right though, maybe klitchsko was getting abit worried taking on an unbeaten fighter, one things for sure chisora would of given it a good shot and would of been very entertaining stuff
top bill now then is the khan v maidana (khan to win on points... unless he gets caught but think he has improved enough now to not get caught)
then next best degale v smith (degale will prob win on points, smith is hard to stop and could take him into the later rounds where he will have to hope degale tires)
rest of the card is cleverley etc fighting bums

| Apart from Brook and DeGale's performances, it was a poor bill.

| Khan vs Maidana was one hell of a fight, one of the best I've seen in a while.
Tremendous heart shown by both men. I didn't think Khan had it in him, he'll win a lot more fans on the back of that effort.
Would love to see a rematch.

| That was THE defining fight in Khan's career. He fought and beat one of the best punchers in the division and came through it. That punch he took in round 10 would've KO'd many fighters but Khan took the punch, stayed on his feet and won the fight. He showed great character and proves the doubters wrong who said he doesn't have a chin. Roach and Ariza have done a great job with him and I think he's 3 or 4 years away from greatness.
