Could you see Allardyce dropping to the lower reaches of the Championship?

I think Allardyce is probably hanging fire for the next Premier job....West Ham, Wigan or Wolves..
If Wolves don't pick up something from Liverpool or West Ham, then I think he's nailed on for there.....Its his local club, so he would be there in a flash.

Not a good time to be a manager in Lancs this season if your name is not Holloway As a Rovers fan I wouldn't mind him going to Burnley as they'd have to put up with the style of play we have for the last 2 years.

Quick question.....Would you want Premier League football, playing Allardyce footy or Championship soccer playing good, attractive football?

As for my small club quip?....Well, to most football fans who were around before Sky ruined the sport, then Chelsea will always be the equal of a club like West Ham, rather than Arsenal or Spurs...Bit of a yo-yo club, play good football but with little success.'"
Whilst your memory goes back to the 1970s, do a bit of research and you will find that Chelsea were consistently the highest supported club in the game between the 1920s and the early post war years.
The level of a club in the game's history is not simply based upon where it is now, but it's more relevant than simply basing it upon some random year in your childhood.
Jibes about clubs with "no history" usually come from clubs with "no future".

Burnley are two points off Play Offs and have one of the best squads in the Championship.

Doesn't have to be good attractive football just half decent football will do after watching Allardyce footy thanks.I would have said prem footy in the past but after a time you just want to enjoy going to a match which I can't say I did when BFS was in charge.

Fair enough......Personally, I wouldn't want to put up with Sam's style of football, but he does seem to do a job of sorts, wherever he goes.

| Quote: Dita's Slot Meter "I fully respect your opinions, but I'd have to pull you up on this point.....How exactly has the Sky fantasy league been good for English football?
If encouraging seedy, ego driven foreign investors to swamp our sport is a good thing, then fair enough.....If bringing in barrel loads of sub-standard, mediocre players from abroad to the detriment of British youngsters is a good thing, then fair enough.
Football lost its soul the day it sold out to Sky....The lust for money and success is an unsightly one and only leads to any success that clubs gain to be tarnished.
Whilst a club like City or yourselves will welcome success, its sad that most people will simply point to the huge, vulgar investments as the reason for that success and not have the same 'acheivement' level attached to it that clubs had in the years before Sky....Look at Forest's success in the 70's and 80's as a prime example or Everton's just after.....Most success had to be earned and was rightly lauded - Nowadays, most success is bought.'"
Yeah, football in England before the Premier League was awesome wasn't it? It must have been so awesome at Goodison in 1993, when you had an average crowd of 20,400.
You want to say that Chelsea were West Ham-sized because when you were growing up they had similar sized gates, but you won't accept that practically every club has seen massive increases in their gates with the Premier League's inception, and they fans have also paid massive amounts of money for those tickets.
Liverpool and Everton really do want to paint all the success that they've had as pure footballing achievements, but FFS both clubs have benefitted massively from having Littlewoods pools billionaires owning the club. You just won't accept that your success was bought in a very similar manner to the success that Blackburn/Chelsea have had and Citeh may have.
You point to the success that Clough had at Forest, is that the same Brian Clough that had his Derby side relegated because of financial irregularities? Is that the same Brian Clough who everyone knows was one of the recipients of brown paper bags full of cash? Is that the same Brian Clough who quite regularly managed to spend record transfer fees bringing in players?

I wouldn't say one of the best tbh, it's an average squad. So maybe I should've said, can you see Allardyce going the the lower reaches of the Championship for Preston or mid-table for Burnely. With the way PL is looking right now there maybe some jobs coming their before too long.

Just as an aside, whilst I understand your desparation for success at City, don't you feel a tinge of 'selling out' in your lust for this success??.....I do know City fans who were disgruntled when the Thai fella took over, feeling they were 'losing' their club...Whilst enjoying the novelty of being among the big boys, they still feel a lack of empathy to City.

It's close to the squad they had last year in the PL apart from a few; Steven Fletcher etc. Either way, I bet they make the Play Offs come the end of the year.

At least it was local business.....That's why people didn't begrudge Blackburn's success.
With Chelsea, City and many others, it is just foreign investors playng fantasy football....Let's be honest, Abramovich didn't know who the f*** Chelsea were prior to buying them, similarly the Sheikh and his City 'investment'.

The fact that United fans even noticed that the table was shown at the end just goes to prove how much time they spend concerned with what we are doing these days. Now, that's a small time mentality!
You do realise it was shown on sky sports news pretty much straight after the full time whistle?

Premiership? All those 3 clubs looking sure-fire relegation candidates, so either way he'll be in the Championship next season if he takes ones of those or goes to Burnley or PNE.
