Fancied King to beat Taylor, thought he might have beaten Wade too.

The King did very well to come back from 7 - 0 down but James wade deserved to win it.

Cheers, all fairly poor then, I expected them to be all in excess of 100.

Pressure of the occasion I guess but I think it will give the likes of Anderson, Thornton and the other up and coming players hope that these guys can shoot poor averages and winning a big one is not out of the question.

Was it me or when the presentations were made after the final Mervyn King was not there to receive his runners-up cheque ? I'll miss that stunning blonde who accompanies the players on to the stage.

Has Taylor thought up his excuse yet, or is he waiting for Sid to write one for him?

Talking of which, wolfie has been pretty quiet on here since Taylor got beat.

Thought Lanning was going to have kittens when King took the mic at the end of the game V Taylor. Fair play to Mervyn though, thought he spoke very calmly and made some good points.

However, I do think that victory effected him in the final. As with Mardle in the worlds, he seemed to think he'd done the job by beating Phil, not realising he had a very, very good opponent come the final. Once he'd "woken up and smelt the coffee" he was too far behind, despite his best efforts.

I'm not sure he thought the hard work was done, but with the needle over recent weeks I think he used a lot of nervous energy and emotion in that semi-final and was flat at the start of the final as a result.

Going to UK open next Thursday at Bolton - Reebok Stadium, my best mate has qualified for his first PDC event, his name is Darren Weaver, he has drawn Gary Mawson, he is scheduled to play on board 1 in the 4th game which we believe board 1 is the sky games, to say he is nervous is an understatement

Tough tough draw as the top 32 do not come in till later he could not have drawn a much tougher opponent.

Thanks, i suppose it is a tough draw but i guess any other draw wouldn't have got him on tv so he could look at it that way i suppose...

Oh yeah and if he does win he will definetly make the headlines on Sky Sports News.

Always seems Mawson is a top bloke and probably a fun guy to play as he does not take himself or darts too seriously, I'm sure he will make it good for your mate and win or lose he will enjoy it.

Dad had heart attack the other week and hes now got pneumonia.plus mam ended up in hospital with stress so its been a tough few weeks.

I did watch the darts tho and king deserved to win,thought he would of done better in the final but i guess a 20 minute turnaround isnt easy to cope with.

Just noticed in the Blue Square Open Gary Anderson plays Paul Nicholson should be a beauty and the way Anderson tends to be slack at the start of tournaments the Aussie/Geordie has a great chance of winning.
