I love train travel & have never been first class; I love food & I love beer. I'm not sure how polite it would be to ignore my hosts (who I actually like) & spend it among the mobile phone, barbour jacketed, flat capped mob in the bar though. I am quite tempted to get more amunition to fire my prejudices though.

Aye, he did. He should have played for England before now IMO. I would have started the tournament with him at 15 and Wilkinson at 10, because Balshaw is just bollox.

I'd rewrite that slightly to starting with Cipriani at 10 and Tait or Abendanon at 15, as Wilkinson is finished at international level.
You need to have some sort of running threat at 10 to interest the opposition back row, otherwise they can just drift across from setpieces and get at your centres. Wilkinson just doesn't offer that, Cipriani (or even Flood) does. |
