Quite brilliant performance against someone so much bigger and heavier.
Would he beat Floyd Mayweather or would that end up being a dull affair with Floyd covering up and frustrating all the time?

It shouldn't , It should have been stopped imo. Pacquaio's speed and accuracy made Mararita look pedestrian.

| I thought the ref was right to let it go on.
Mararita was injured, but the injury wasn't getting any worse. There never really looked to be any point in the fight where Mararita was really in danger of suffering from not being able to defend himself. So IMO the ref was right to allow Mararita a puncher's chance of taking the fight.

| Frank Bruno and some other pundits tipped Harrison last night
Haye caught Fraudley with a couple of nice right hands, but IMO he couldn't find the floor quick enough once Haye opened up. There was no clean ones in the flurry that sent him down, I know he was wobbled but I think he almost took a dive. Went out too late to see the Groves fight, have read the reports, opinions anyone who watched it?

Come on, Bruno was stupid 20 years ago, all the problems he has encountered since won't have made him any brighter....He's probably as clued up on Boxing as most of us...
I think most sane people never gave Harrison a hope in hell....Why would this coward suddenly change from a scared fighter into a all-conquering World Champion overnight??
I actually thought that Audley might have, at least, shown a bit of guts with it being is 'destiny' fight and that it might have gone a little further, but, in hindsight, how it did end shouldn't be any surprise to anybody who has followed this gutless wonder throughout his career.
As for Pacquiao??....A wonderful display and I really hope they can get a fight on with Mayweather.....However, I still favour Floyd, purely because he won't be stood in front of Manny like a punchbag, unlike many of Pacquiao's recent opponents (Hatton, Cotto, Margarito) and I think Mayweather can definitely frustrate and dent Manny's defences.

| Stolen from 606:
My own postscript would be to reflect that we have finally lost (one ardently hopes) in Audley Harrison the living embodiment of Monty Python's Black Knight from the "Holy Grail". Still claiming that he was dragging Haye out of his comfort zone by throwing no punches whatever, Audley was carted into the night, I suppose. You can just hear the echoes of Cleese, minus arms and legs: "Come back and fight..."

Agree 100%. Yes he was injured, but it wasn't getting any worse. The ref asked him twice how many fingers he was holding up and he got it correct on both occasions. The pac man won comfortably, but Magarito did some damage to him several times on the ropes and kep coming forward. If he had not been throwing puches, there could have been more of an argument to stop the fight, but he fought for the whole 12 rounds.

| Harrison was a disgrace. To go in there and throw one jab in 3 rounds is a pathetic effort that any of us could've done. I would happily take a pounding off David Haye if I got the pay day Harrison will get for that. Truly embarrassing and he should retire and never return. As for Haye, he did nothing for 2 rounds and caught Harrison with his 1st right hand. You can't really judge Haye on it, Harrison was that poor. He should fight the Klitchskos next, where at least he'll be challenged consistently for 12 rounds.
As for Pacquiao, a truly brilliant performance. IMO, it was his best of his more recent fights as he fought a guy much bigger than him and completely dismantled him. His speed, power, angles, accuracy is sensational, I could watch a Pacquaio fight anyday and get my moneys worth. If Mayweather and Pacquiao don't fight next year it's a disgrace to the sport.

| I caught a bit of a radio interview with the Klitschko brothers manager today, and it seemed to me he was claiming as they both had the more distinguished titles that Haye should dance to their tunes, in other words a fight in Germany.
As Haye has already travelled to Germany before for a title fight, and the brother's reluctance to fight here a neutral venue should be decided upon, i think Madison Square Garden would be a fitting venue

The 3 fighters you mention are no 'punchbags'. They all are/have been top draw boxers in their time. Pacquiao just made them look very average. Very, very tough one to call but I reckon Manny has what it takes to stop pretty boy......

Didn't mean it to sound like I was questioning their abilities....I was questioning their styles, which are all walk forward, head relatively still type of thing.....Mayweather would be moving, countering Manny, and basically not getting his head taken off with those very fast combos.
Even though Manny won well, he also got tagged and hurt a few times by Margarito.....I'm guessing Floyd might stiffen his legs a few times too.

| Is it not illegal to bet on a boxing match you're taking part in? Sounds slightly corrupt to me.

why?
unless audley was in on it too its upto the fighter to decide when he wants to finish the fight...
and he said he would finish him in 3 rounds.. nothing wrong with that
not like he has to make more money from the fight already made 5million

Because he said he told friends and family to bet big money on him winning it in the 3rd round. That is not right. You can't bet and compete in any other sport. Why should boxing be different?
