Quote: Mike Oxlong ""In the context of Law 11 – Offside, the following definitions apply

FIFA might have messed up in the wording of the offside law. That doesn't really make any sense to me. You need to quote Law 11 to see what that says. They haven't changed the offside law to the dumb 5hit Tydsley was saying last night. FIFA are corrupt and obsessed with money, but they are not stupid enough to bring in Tydsley's law without the world telling them where to shove it.

Just brilliant wasn't it. Pele was on the field for longer, providing twitter with enough to go at for unfunny memes for about the next decade, with things that lasted longer than Stevie G.

I thought United were the better team by an amazing distance. Everyone has been going on and on about 'Brodgers' and his amazing tactical setup. I'll tell you what, they've got some decent players in Coutinho, Sterling and Sturridge, but they are just the luckiest team in the world. Swansea battered them last week by all accounts but were unlucky and Liverpool got that goal. Today, United's players were setup better, far more solidity in the way they were lined up.

Brodgers excuses for Skrtel are an absolute joke as well after all the crying and moaning about Costa. Skrtel's was a red card offense as well and should be picked up by the FA as it wasn't dealt with on the field.

What has he said? I agree it was pretty much the same as the Costa incident, so it would be considerable hypocrisy to defend it.

It's some insult to have your arrogance publicly criticised by Nigel Pearson.

IMO Skrtl knew he was going to stand on De Gea, *possibly* extended his stride a little to make sure of it. Made absolutely no attempt to evade standing on a floored keeper when he could have done.

IMO Diego Costa was attempting to retrieve the ball quickly because Can was writhing around on the floor in an attempt to con a free kick. Costa stood on Can's leg accidentally.

I know this is highly convenient for a Chelsea fan, but I'd have sent Costa off for pulling Luiz's hair v PSG and Cahill should have got 6 games for kicking Harry Kane and stamping on his leg on New Years Day.

I've watched Diego Costa nearly every minute he's played. That boy doesn't do subtle. If he'd stamped Can there would have been absolutely no denying it. Just like there's no denying Gerrard and Cahill did it.

As I have been preaching. Just see each incident with truthful, honest, intelligent eyes. icon_biggrin.gif

Did you think about Costa not doing subtle? Can you actually point to him actually looking like he's having a subtle go at someone?

I've watched him play all season and I don't think he has.

I've seen him do plenty of SLY digs though. The little kicks that are plain to the eye that don't even get given by refs. He did one against Hull on the keeper. He also held his hands up as well to draw even more attention to what he'd done. There was a sly little kick against Burnley. He is a sly mofo, but IMO still not a 1/5th of the slyness of the defenders he's up against.

Being a striker is a strange position. In the penalty are if the referee see you give a tiny push he'll happily to blow away all day, because a free kick against a striker in the box means so little. Yet many defenders virtually need to use rope to tie a striker up before a ref will give a pen against a defender for holding.

I do actually admit that Costa may have deliberately known he was going to step on Can's leg when chasing for the ball. My argument over that not being a 3 match ban is 1. You can't prove it, only the men knows. 2. Can provoked the situation by messing around play acting and then kicking the ball away when his play acting didn't work. The fact he was messing around on the floor was the reason he got stood on. If you don't want to get stood on then Stand TFO.

I offer the same opinion when Suarez STOOD ON the dude's back in Europe while playing for Liverpool. I do think Suarez could have evaded standing on him, but he could have also injured himself in doing so. If his opponent didn't want his back stood on he shouldn't have gone down like a fool in front of him when he was chasing after the ball.

Skrtl, not content with taking the three-game ban, took to his instagram page and posted a picture of a bunch of clowns, in reference to the disciplinary panel. Fitting of the club he plays for i suppose

Never their fault

They should be forced to have that as their main sponsor for 5 years as punishment for their lies.

At what point does the repetition of "I can't get a managerial job because I'm black" cease to become tiresome and actually be deemed some sort of incitement or bringing the game into disrepute?

City's recent displays are adequate proof of why having shedloads of cash and fetching in mercenaries isn't always a huge advantage.

Its fantastic when you are on form and in the hunt for trophies, but once things go slightly awry and there becomes a need to dig deep and show a little pride in the shirt, then teams like City go missing because, to put it bluntly, they don't actually give a for their clubs, they are just interested in their next destination or size of their pay packets.

The most despicable thing about City today was that they gave up without a fight - Once United equalised you could only see one result. United were not actually that good, but they had passion and fight and it easily overcame City's superior skill levels.

City's performance today was the type which seals a manager's fate - I'd be surprised if Pellegrini sees the season out.
