| I can't agree, sorry. Whenever I've played the game and I'm running at speed, I very rarely see a player about to trip me up, especially if it's a matter of inches. For me, Eboue took the touch past Evra then gave up looking for a foul, he was made to look foolish as no challenge came. If Evra came in sliding from the side then pulled his legs back to avoid the challenge, and Eboue jumped to avoid contact, then yeah, fair enough Eboue, but when he was running next to him and there was only inches in it, for me he just gave up and took the easy option.

Completely changed the game. Gerrard had been very quiet up until then with Davis man marking him. As soon as Davis walked Gerrard had loads more space, allowing him to feed Torres.
Just look at the winner. Gerrard stood there in acres of space. Can't help but think that if Lucas hadn't done his impression of a miming prick Davis would have been all over Gerrard would have been under pressure when taking the shot.

All it done was force Bolton to pack their box. If anything, it just delayed the inevitable

| Pish poor game at Goodison.
No wonder Latics crowds are down. Really poor standard of football they're playing this season.
In Scotland, it will be interesting to hear what Tony Mowbray has to say about McGeady being given his marching orders for diving.

(63 Mins) Everton 1-1 Wigan
Louis Saha (62)
Definite dive from McGeady IMO, Also Chris Killen should have been carded for "Simulation" aswell towards then end of the game but neither a card nor freek kick was given very inconsistent from the Referee...

Mowbray saying if the Eduardo incident hadn't happened this week McGeady would never have been sent off.

I agree with Mowbray. The Celtic player didn't dive. The Hibs player stuck out his leg right in front of McGeady. McGeady had nowhere to go. He either carried on with his run, ended up being tripped, falling flat on his face and possibly getting injured, or he evades the challenge and goes to ground uninjured.
But no doubt the morons will come out with their "If there's no stud marks it's not a foul" e that they always do.

| I know its very early in the season, and one or two teams I am going to menion may go on and finish in the top half of the table, but at this moment in time, I just feel the premierleague has one two many teams this year that will struggle against the top sides.
Wolves, Hull, Wigan, Birmingham, Portsmouth and Burnley, and to a lesser extent Bolton and Blackburn
The top sides should not have a problem against these teams away from home (home been self explanatory), and it just seems the premier league is going to be a bigger divide than it has been in recent seasons.

Looked like a dive to me. A dive being going to ground when you aren't touched. Not in the same galaxy as Eboue's effort yesterday but still a dive.

Practically every time a player is fouled they will be reacting to the foul before being hit. It's instinct. Arshavin, who was blatantly fouled by Fletcher yesterday, was reacting to the impact way before he was hit. That doesn't mean he was diving, it just means he's human.
The Hibs player wasn't making a genuine attempt to play that ball. He was a mile away. McGeady went to ground because the Hibs player stuck his leg right in front of him. The Hibs player was the offender, not the Celtic player.
Just because a defender manages to stop himself inches from making contact doesn't mean he hasn't commited a foul.
