| Ermm Gareth Barry for 1 will allow ireland the liscence to roam round the midfeild a lot more Santa Cruz is a very good striker which we really missed last year. And before you start to knock him just remeber who your striking options are Yakubu, Saha and Anichebe

Santa Cruz is a decent player but for the money he cost there is much better out there anyway. Yakubu is far better than Santa Cruz anyway, i'd rather have the yak than cruz anyday.
But seen as the transfer window hasn't opened officially yet i'm sure Moyes has some signings to bring in and as I said before as of yet City, Villa or any other side, outside the top four, has yet to make any deals that worry me.

| Yakubu better than Santa Cruz?? your opinion mate not going to knock that. But he seemed lazy and unfit last year pal think Santa Cruz is better. Barry ill be a veruy good signing and WHEN tevez signs tommorow that will give us a lot of options and at last we will have a bit of firepower which we have always lacked. The defence will look after its self again has it always does would like to pick up Lescott from you (Big loss for you, and a Huge gain for us, strong defender and threat at the set peice) would look for another midfielder (Robben) and then Eto'o then i will be happy for this market

If it did it doesn't auger well for Hughes's managerial skills if he cannot cope with a European run along with the PL campaign.
Didn't going out of the FA and League cups at the first hurdle help your position at all?

To be honest mate if we lost Lescott to you it would be a massive blow, not only a class centre half but as you say he chips in with the goals too plus Jagielka is out until November at the earliest it would be an even bigger blow. Tevez will be a class signing, now if he signs and Eto'o followed then I may be worried and waiting on Moyes' new arrivals. As for Yakubu, he really is a class player, watching week after week he is strong on the ball, does have a little pace too and main thing is he can finish, he is a typical striker wants the ball to his feet in and around the box and he will score. He won't go chasing or running wide but sometimes you need that. As I said Cruz is class and will be a welcome signing.
If we don't, which I can almost guarentee we won't, break the top four I hope you have a good go at it, be nice for someone to give them a real shake up, someone who lasts longer than Villa did

| Being honest with you i dont really know which is the bigger blow losing lescott or jagielka cause they are both class. Can we have them both?? Tevez will sign im not sure about eto'o after what i heard today though Yakubu seemed like he went downhill when he signed for Boro at portsmouth he was awesome, but like you said i dont see him week in week out so i cant really comment. You will do well this year you have probably the best manager in the league Moyes but it doesnt look like your making that much of a move in the window i know its early but most of the big teams are getting deals tied up. I wish 1 of us do get top 4 i think we will break it this year and even you might get passed nal they havent done much it all depends on getting jagielka back quick and cahill staying fit. Who would you like too see brought in??

It's just certain areas we need to strenghten really, as long as we keep Lescott away from yourselves I think we are solid enough at the back, another right back to back up Hibbert would be good and we've been linked with Kyle Naughton but another striker and a midfield engine room, someone who will just sit off the likes of Pienaar, Arteta and Fellaini and get stuck in, a good ball winner. we have lacked that since Carsley left, we tried to use Castillo there last year but he didn't work out. Arteta and Pienaar are quality, really creative with the Yak up top things do looke good. I do believe we are only a couple of quality players away from really challenging for Arsenal place.
As you say we havn't made any moves yet and it does worry, I know it's early but a lot of teams are making deals and we havn't started, something Moyes has done since he has been here but he has been superb since he came here so 'Moyes we trust'
You expect any major signings this summer?

I hope you're talking about the "League without the top 4" and not the actual Premier League when you're writing that.

| yeah i think anyone could manage the top 4 with the resources they are given not knocking Ferguson and Wenger too do it over a period like they have is awesome but the always had substantial financial backing. And well im not sure i would be happy with tevez, Robben and Lescott. Would love to see Eto'o here but cant see it happen would really like to see us try to bring in Muntari always looked godd at Pompey adapted the conditions over here well. And even try a cheeky bid for Van Persie and Yaya. Leave Kolo Toure and Adebayor at Arsenal both overrated.

I hate to break it to you, but Ferguson hasn't just managed Man United. He managed St Mirren. A First Division title won won him the Aberdeen job. At Aberdeen, 3 Scottish Premier League titles, 4 Scottish cups and a Cup Winners Cup earned him the Man United job. At Man United he's won 2 Champions Leagues, 11 Premier League titles, 5 FA Cups, 3 League Cups and a Cup Winners Cup.
If you really want to say that David Moyes trumps that with his second division title it's okay, but it is moronic.
Now lets compare Moyes with Benitez. Benitez has won the La Liga with Valenica as well as the UEFA Cup. At Liverpool he has won the FA Cup and the Champions League. If you want to say that Moyes's second division title trumps those it's okay, but it's moronic.
Arsene Wenger has won the French league and a French cup. At Arsenal he's won 3 titles and 4 FA Cups. He's managed to reach a CL final. He's consistently managed to compete at the top with a tiny budget compared to his competitors. It's not quite moronic to say that Moyes's second division title makes him a better manager than Wenger, but it's still pretty stupid.
I'm not overly convinced by Ancelotti, but his two CL wins and a Serie A title and Cup win are also worth massively more than Moyes's trophy haul.
There's no doubt that Moyes is one of the highest rated managers in Britain right now. He's probably done enough to deserve a chance at a bigger club to show he can perform at that level. But you just don't skip that part and laud him as the best before he even manages to get a top job. Moyes could get a top job and fall on his face like Scolari did. There's a host of managers who have done well at mid-ranking sides but failed completely when given a chance higher up.
When Moyes takes the step up and wins things he'll deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the top managers. ATM he'd probably lose out in a debate over whether him or Joe Royle were the better manager.

How much is that? Isn't the fee undisclosed? Unless you have access to all the transfer amounts like the LFC fans do, or alternatively we can ask Wire 85 to post that fantasy net spending graph what that scouse journalist made up, you know...the one where Tevez cost 32 mill and Skrtel wasn't even on it.

Since the takeover we've signed Robinho, Bridge, De Jong, Given, Bellamy, Barry & Santa Cruz.
It does seem that Tevez is all but signed up.
We've made bids for Lescott & Toure. Whether those players sign remains to be seen, but if they dont its more than likely that we will sign a couple of defenders of comparable ability.
The media tend to focus on the signing of Robinho and the failed bids for Kaka and Eto'o. But the reality is that most of City's recruitment has been focused on hard working players, mostly with Premiership experience. Hughes has the formed the basis for a very solid squad with a sprinkling of flair players.
Considering that City's last result before Hughes took over was an 8-1 defeat at Boro, I'd say we were moving forward.

| Citeh are definitely moving forward. And at a guess they'll probably spend about a billion pounds to get into Everton's position. Very good VFM.
