| Im guessing Thorne was on the bench so he will be fresh for the league game on saturday,McCall obviously didnt give a rats ass about this cup but what im peed off it is our performance in the 2nd half, even Danny Cadamatri made us look ordinary.
We conceded 4 goals in one half of football which worries me and it really has knocked my confidence.

| Quote: AaronBull "Holy sh*t. Mate of mine text me saying we didn't actually play that badly.'"
Must have been at a different game to me, first half we were OK but you could tell Town were a class above us, second half we were diabolical from 1 to 11, couldn't hold the ball up front, non-existent midfield and defence dragged all over the place. 3 of Town's goals were gifts and that's annoying.
A couple of McCall's decisions baffled me tonight, no Thorne for starters (Conlon was abysmal) and then the substitutions - if he wanted to protect Thorne then why bring him on at 2 down? and TJ Moncur on at right midfield? Bizarre to say the least.
I don't get into these ing contests about fans, but I have to say our following was superb tonight. The away end was practically full (they had to remove the covering on the end blocks as more and more came in) so that was 4k out of an attendance of 8900 - and we deserved better than that performance.
Bad news about Topp too, though not entirely surprising, when the deal was done last season McCall seemed to not know too much about it or the player, and he's clearly regarded as 4th choice striker at best, to be fair I wouldn't be happy if Barry Conlon was rated above me.
That's the optimism well and truly gone anyway!

| Good response to Tuesday today, be nice if someone other than Thorne could get on the score-sheet though, anyone know if Grant Holt notched today?
According to the half-time report from my mate at the game we totally outclassed them in the first half, sounded like we eased off a bit in the second half but we still managed to hit the woodwork three times on the break.
Good to hear Willy getting a run-out ahead of Conlon too.
2 games, 2 wins anyway - Rochdale next week should be more of a test though.

Were very impressive yesterday. Kept the ball on the floor and played some good passing football. Boulding kept the defenders busy chasing everything down the channels, looks to have a very good touch too. After being left unimpressed with our midfield pairing last week they both looked very classy yesterday, really controlled things.
We were pushed back a bit in the second half but we still had a goal in us if needed. Topp showed some nice touches when he came on, gave the attack an extra dimension.
Overall a very professional performance and the sort of thing we ought to expect if we are to challenge.

| Good win yesterday against a decent Rochdale outfit. They probably had more of the play, even in the first half, but our extra quality in front of goal proved the difference. In the second half I thought we let them come onto us a bit too much, but we seemed in control for most of the time - the centre backs were superb.
So far so good then, though I'm still not convinced by Paul Arnison, most of Dales chances came from their left and I think he is going to start getting targeted more and more - and I'd like a tough tackling midfielder for games against the better teams, just to shore things up a bit.
Not sure what Michael Boulding does to keep having shots that hit the inside of one post, roll along the line and go out for a goal-kick past the other one, good to see him get off the mark though, and good that someone other than Thorne has managed to get on the scoresheet.

The 2nd half was a little disappointing but the more I think about it the more sense it makes. If we'd have gone at Rochdale again they're more than good enough to hit us on the break. To hold what we had was a smart decision, especially with the quality of our centre backs, who were both faultless.
An excellent win and another tough test on the way next week at Aldershot. Hopefully McLaren is fit because we look weaker in the middle with Nix in there.
