I'm not pretending that the Jets are anything other than a freaking joke right now, no doubt about that whatsoever.

But I'm also not jealous of the so-called best coach and QB in the league. Neither of whom have won anything since getting busted for cheating....

I'll say that Peyton Manning is the best QB in the NFL. The Jets will get back someday but will Sanchez be there is another question ? Brady didn't get busted for cheating though.

The Jets are a long way from getting back to where we were even 3 years ago sadly (for me anyway!).
Sanchez was an OK game manager on the back of an excellent defence and a good running game. Ask him to do it himself and he is atrocious. His passing is poor, his concentration seems shot and his whole appearance appears to be one of someone stuck in the headlights with sheer panic. Though to be fair to him his lack of receiving weapons this past season was ridiculously bad planning, apart from the Holmes injury.
Here's hoping for a decent draft and off-season.

And I'm with you on Peyton Manning too. What a season he just had after what he went through the year before.

I don't have a problem with running up the score. A game is 60 minutes and you are within your right to try and score on every possession. The other team needs to step up the D.


That said the Pats are arrogant. I chuckle every year they fail to win after being caught out.

The Brady v Rodgers argument is quite a good and close one. I'd probably agree that Rodgers is probablymore talented than Tom Terrific, but I'd say Brady is the better quarterback.

And Peyton Manning is better than both those two.

Is anyone watching the Pro Bowl?

Over the last few years I've lost interest in the game itself which has descended into a farce but the players seem to be making the right noises this year. Manning and Champ Bailey had some interesting stuff to say which, in summary, is the players like the trip to Hawaii but it will only occur if the game is worth it. The solution, play hard.

We will see I guess but it sounds like the players realise that another farce and the game may be in real jeopardy.

I would take Rodgers, Brady and Eli over Peyton. He's a bottler in the playoffs. He'll put up good stats and smash the regular season in poor divisions, but when it comes to the big games, he can't be relied upon.

The fact it no longer features players from the two Superbowl teams devalues it even further IMO. It has no relevance as a "sporting" event, they may as well allow a few celebrities to make cameo appearances in it just to increase the entertainment value.

For it to survive, it needs a good brawl and a bit of "edge". Otherwise you may as well be watching some very good flag football.

I don't mind people questioning spygate and fully understand why they do. The fact of the matter is that when we won the first few superbowls we had D's and veteran leaders on the defensive side of the ball and could match other teams physical style of play. Now whenever we play a team that contains a bit of fear factor and/or toughness, we get bullied.

Cardinals, Ravens, Seahawks, 49ers

All the teams to beat us this season. If you couple that with us not having a deep threat and you have our failings. I'm hopeful this off season we can resign Talib and make a run at Mike Wallace.
