After resisting (or missing out on) selling Ferdinand and/ or Evra in the Summer transfer window, by the end of January 2010, Ferdindand (31, Fiorentina £24M) and Vidic (28, Inter, £34.5M) had left. Be interesting how i carry on but with bringing players in for the reserve/under 18's team, will work out in long term.

I've been a fan of the FM series recently over the past few years but 08 was a bit of a disappointment and wasn't the best one. Is 09 improved and makes you want to carry on playing it?

I didn't get 08 as i was too far ahead on 07 to want to give it up. However the new match engine appealed (although it turned out it wouldnt work for me) and my 07 disc broke so playing 09 and enjoying it. So yes i suppose is the answer.

IMO, no. I don't really no why, but i can't seem to get into a game and stick at, seem to get bored really easy. On 08, had a few different games were i went a good few years, i did a season with City at the start on 09, 2 seasons, got bored then went off it, then never really got into another game as of yet.

With Wigan I won my first game Vs Bolton 1-0 with Kilbane scoring then I lost 4-0 to Man Utd. I tried to attack playing 4-3-1-2 but I got butchered. Will resort to usual 4-4-2 for future games with Tranmere next in the cup.

Can anyone recomend a left back that they have signed who isnt vastly expensive?

Depending on how much money you have, and what season you're in, but Fabian Monzon is one of the best left backs on the game IMO, and he's available for around £5m if Betis don't sign him.

Armand Traore is available on the cheap, too, and if you're in the first season, Emiliano Insua can be signed on loan.
