Another brilliantly constructive piece. Again, what do you not agree with?
The proof will be in the pudding. If anyone is willing to lay me the 2/1 the bookies are offering on Liverpool finishing top 4 I'll have £100 with the first person who takes the offer. That goes to anyone. If we're as shat as the brilliantly original smiley faces are so eloquently putting it, then there will be plenty of willing participants.
How people can write off a Liverpool team including Reina, Agger, Gerrard, Cole and Torres baffles me. Who has a stronger spine than that?

Cech Terry Lampard Malouda Drogba
Van De Sar Vidic Scholes Nani Rooney
Almunia Vermalaen Fabregas Nasri Van persie
Given Toure Barry Silva Tevez
Wouldn't swap you for any of them. Chelsea fans would say the same I'm sure. I KNOW our squad hasn't the depth of the rest of the top teams in the PL but there's 2.5 weeks until the start of the season and RH has shown enough so far for me to have a certain amount of trust in who he will sign.
Time will tell.

bwin are offering 11/5 with most of the other bookies having Liverpool odds on for a top four finish.

I agree that's a strong looking spine and I can only imagine it was a combination of the other players and manager that meant that that spine finished 7th last year. |

No way I'd swap our spine as you put it for yours. I'd have Fletcher there instead of Scholes.

Vidic> Agger
Gerrard > Fletcher
Nani > Cole

As for the City one..

Cole - Silva......Silva has a lot to prove in the prem
Torres > Tevez.
Arsenal
Reina > Almunia
Agger > Vermaelan
Fabregas > Gerrard
Cole > Nasri
Torres > Van Persie.
Look, I know our squad isn't good enough. My point is that IF we keep our spine fit we'll be miles better than the 7th we finished last year, good enough for 4th place IMO. If the other 6 players step up and play to their potential we could possibly do a bit better. What's so funny? 2 years ago the same team give or take a couple scored 86 premiership points. The 2 main missing players Alonso and Mascherano scored 1 goal between them all season. I know teams have improved which is why I'mnot setting my sights on top 2 or 3. I'd take top 4 and I firmly believe we are capable. |
